Bought this as a retinol alternative while I am pregnant. It is amazing! Has no smell, doesn’t make my face feel greasy, absorbs into my skin quickly, and gives the perfect amount of moisture and firmness. I use every morning!

My skin is super sensitive and temperamental and retinoids absolutely wreak havoc on my skin. I’m 41 and this is the time where I NEED to have very specific anti-aging products in my routine. Every single retinol product I’ve used, even prescribed, have just completely backfired.

I did a lot of research and came across this product as an alternative. I’m not kidding you when I say that from the time I started using this particular product (there are a LOT of Bakuchiol products on the market) to now, my skin is noticeably smoother, refined, more lifted and firmer.

After washing my face using a two step method with first using an oil cleanser to remove makeup and then going into my face wash, this is the first thing I apply to my skin after patting my face dry.

I use 3 pumps, apply to my entire face and neck and then I use a derma roller after applying to push and massage all the product into my skin. I’ll let that sit for about 10-15 mins before applying following serums I’m alternating between
and then apply my moisturizer as my last step.

I’ve been through 3 bottles at this point. There was a period between bottle 2 and 3 where I lapsed in repurchasing and my skin started looking tired, dull, noticeably less firm and my forehead lines and under eyes became more pronounced. I knew I needed to repurchase and within a week all those things were rectified.

It’s not harsh, smells amazing, feels great to apply, and works wonders.

It’s a staple in my skincare.

If you don’t tolerate retinoids or don’t want leap into that realm, get this product instead. It works, it’s worth the price, it’s amazing.

Has a nice scent! It goes on clear and absorbs good. Very moisturizing and gives off a nice glow. Haven’t had any reactions to ingredients.

Sodium Benzoate as an added ingredient? There should be a disclaimer NOT to use this product with the Phoenix Oil, as it has been advised by Cosmetic Ingredient Review reports to avoid the combination of ascorbic acid and benzoates. “Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) safety assessment report on benzoates, from 2017, states the following:

“Data from model studies reviewed by the Panel raised the possibility that benzene could be formed from benzoic acid and benzoates in cosmetics. The yields of benzene, however, that could be generated by photodegradation are sufficiently low but not non-existent.”

Why take any chance on sodium benzoate in any product, especially a vegan product that claims it is completely harmless? Can’t we have anything nice without a potential exposure to something that can cause a reaction? Just put a label on your product stating that certain ones should not be used together.

I bought this mainly because of the high amount of bakuchiol (1%) but it has some really cool fruit ingredients and fruit oils as well, like fig and blueberry. I could drench myself in this stuff, it makes my fine lines disappear and my skin looks blurred. It’s also very hydrating so wonderful for my dry skin, though I do think oily skinned gals could use it as well, just use 1 pump instead of 2! My skin is glowing since using this. The fun part about it is the color, it’s a bright purple-ish blue and I’m not sure which ingredient that comes from (maybe the blueberries?) but the color just brings me joy and I look forward to applying this to my skin. I’ve always loved Herbivore and have used lots of their products but this one is my favorite! I provided a photo of the color of the serum but it really doesn’t do the color justice.

I ordered Moon Dew eye cream July 26. I noticed the label for the ingredients was VERY evasive, they don’t actually show the ingredients that are in this product.
Yet and still, I put the cream under my eyes. Didn’t take long because my skin started feeling queasy, like something wasn’t quite right. Took about twenty minutes of feeling uncomfortable and I noticed skin under my eyes felt completely DRIED OUT! What happened to develop was a painful redness that went all over my forehead, eyelids and corners of my eyes! I was shocked but that wasn’t the worst thing to happen. I woke up next day and my eyelids were so SWOLLEN that I could barely open my eyes! And what I had developed on my eyelids and now my cheek area too , was a WEEPING ECZEMA! It was very painful! I threw the product into the trash!
I tried to cooperate with Herbivore as I’ve sent them an email explaining what happened, and asked for a refund, They did not even respond to my email so I had no choice but to write this review as a WARNING to others who have sensitive skin, eczema or dermatitis prone skin, or just people who care about what ingredients they are using on their skin!

I have tried this for the last 5 days every night and my skin looks so plump and dewy. This is a sticky formula that has to be pressed into the skin. It’s very absorbent and the ingredients are clean, and it comes in a glass bottle! I love how soft and clear my skin has been looking. Highly recommend!

I was debating on putschasing this at first be of the price. However, it has made a difference in my face. It did not have a sticky after feel. Nice and smooth! The absorption was great. Definitely will purchase again.
