I have ordered another version of this curling iron in the past. It lasted at least 2 to 3 years. I ordered this long barrel one and a half inch curling iron. I received it, and it always felt a little sticky in the clamp area. After about a month of use (2 to 3 times a week) the clamp began to get stuck in the up position. It was past the return timeframe for Amazon so they asked me to contact the manufacturer. I contacted the manufacturer of hot tools, who is Helen of Troy. They told me it was a spring problem and they would send the part out to me to fix it. They also told me they would send a booklet with instructions to repair this $70 curling iron. I did receive the spring after about 10 days, however the booklet of instructions was not with it. I called Amazon to let them know of my frustration and Amazon made it right By refunding my money. I will order a different brand now.

This Hot Tool is an amazing curling iron.
One of the main reasons I like it (in addition to the fact that it heats up very hot) is that with my other curling iron…every time I picked it up my hand would hit the off button and shut it off. I found this very irritating because I constantly had to monitor whether or not it was on.
So I decided the other day that I’d had enough.
I happen to find this particular brand while surfing Amazon looking for a new one that had great reviews. And this one did.
When I saw how it was made…I decided I’d give it a try.
I absolutely love it!!
It’s impossible to hit the off button because of the clever design. It heats up so fast too and it stays extremely hot.
I LOVE it! I have now purchased both the 1 inch barrel and the 2 inch barrel from this company.
They are a pricey. However…they are made extremely well. And that’s valuable to me.
I need my curling irons to do a good job. And both of these do just that.
They work perfect!!!

I wasn’t sure I would like the gold compared to ceramic. I thought it might damage my hair. It hasn’t. I tried it because a friend said she loved hers. I’m a fan now. I wash and curl every morning. It treats my hair well. I am still careful how long I keep it on one batch of hair.
