this hot tools dryer over all is a very useful dryer and efficient. Definitely cutting your dry time to less than a normal hair dryer. I usually need to use some kind of heat protector spray or hair primer or leaving conditioner to get smooth feel (which something weight my hair a lot), but this dryer help me get smooth hair without using any products.
The heat setting is great. This 1100 watts somehow more powerful in term of blow power than my 1800 watts hair dryer. But it is only because it is small and blow air through a small chamber, therefore air push out stronger which is an illusion. The cool setting is not exactly room temperature it is still warm tho. Other than that other hot settings is fine as it is.
The handle it self is big but not so awkward to hold like other claimed. Greta feature is the cool tip, easy and safe to hold while twisting.
So what can this improve to be better?
well, the dryer main function is to dry hair faster than a normal dryer plus giving you a blow out look which is a bonus. However, it depends. The one I got was a smaller barrel size. The barrel did a good job in term of giving volume for blow out look but it wasn’t significant visible. Since this is detachable, I would love the developer create even smaller barrel for the purpose of dry hair and curl it at the same time. Maybe it will create a super voluminous blow out.

Like the title states, I use to be a hairstylist. So when I started to grow out my hair during quarantine, I needed something to heat style it. My hair is very chemically damaged, so I wanted to avoid something that used a lot of heat to achieve straight smooth style on my slightly wavy, thin hair. So flat iron was out, too hot for my already damaged hair. Blow drying is the best method for what I am looking for.
I know how to round brush properly, but like most hairstylist, we don’t do that to our own hair. Either we don’t know how to do as well on ourselves as we do on other people or we just don’t want to do that much work when we aren’t getting paid to. So, enter in the blow dryer brush. Make it so you only have to use one tool to round brush your hair, sign me up!
Using this tool is super easy, you don’t need to be a former hair stylist to make this work for you. Just section your hair, use the smaller sections and brush your hair. That is really it, if you want it to be. It does work best if you use a round brush technique to style each section. But, if you just want smoother, dry hair, you can definitely just brush your hair with this tool and get it dry. I have also used this tool to style my already dry hair and it works great as well.
As far as why I picked this one, it’s easy. Brand loyalty. I trust Hot Tool products since it is what I used when I was doing hair, and even ten years later I still have and use. They produce quality products for a very fair price. I never purchased or even used a blow dryer brush before, but I knew with the Hot Tool name I couldn’t go wrong. So far, I am right. I trust a product’s quality, and using Hot Tools on a daily bases for the years I did hair, I can safely say that they last. Now I am not using this on a daily bases, but it still holds up for the same quality, so far.
As far as the brush itself: It is light enough to not make your arms super tired after holding them up for long periods of time. The time to style out hair so much faster with this tool. I can dry and style my hair in less than ten minutes. Now I have thin, shoulder length hair that dries pretty fast on it own with all it’s damage, but even with thicker hair I can see you finishing this task in way less time than with the normal technique. The brush is made of good quality bristles and really smooths the hair. I could see this working well for someone with curly or extra curly hair to achieve a smoother, straight style. But please note that getting that pin straight look from your curly hair is due to technique and probably a flat iron. Do understand the limitations that a brush and blow dryer has and even with this brush, don’t expect miracles. Expect this tool to it’s job well, but like I use to tell my client’s “It’s a comb, not a magic wand.”
As a former hair stylist, I will definitely recommend this product if you are in the market for a blow dryer brush. I don’t think I would use this on clients in a salon, but I would definitely would of recommended this for a client to use at home to achieve the same style that I did in the salon.
And use a heat protectant product before you use any heat on your hair.

I have been using this product for a little over a month now on my hair. My hair is a little below the shoulder, and is thick with a natural wave. I purchased this because I tend to dry my hair straight rather than wear it natural and was hoping this would help to make the process faster and easier. First off, this brush is super easy to use. It is easy to adjust the setting and because of the brush size I am able to easily reach the back of my head which I struggle with normally trying to balance a hairdryer and a round brush. I separate my hair into at LEAST two sections, and you definitely have to make sure your hair is dried a good amount before you use this. HIGHLY recommend using a heat protectant with this, as it gets HOT. Although it would speed the process up for me to use on the high setting because of my hair being thick, I only use it on low because even that setting is really hot. I try to keep the brush moving so I don’t concentrate the heat in one spot for too long aside from a quick few seconds at the root. I am able to get my hair dried and straightened in one shot, and if you get at your roots right you will definitely get some nice volume! I do tend to get a bit of frizz with this still though, not sure if it’s something I am doing or what. Overall I like it because it cuts down the amount of hair tools I need and REALLY gets the wave out of the back of my hair that I struggled with for so long. I just wish it wouldn’t get so hot and make my hair frizzy.

Me gusta que tiene dos niveles de calor , mi cabello es delgado y con el primer nivel está perfecto. Me gustaría que tuviera más pelitos del cepillo por todo el cepillo. Solo está en los costados y no en el centro . Apesar de eso me gusta mucho como me deja el cabello. I love this product. It has been great for adding volume to short hair. It dries my hair very quickly and curls/straightens it so that I don’t need to use a straightener. It has 3 settings low and high heat and cool. The low heat does not feel warm enough and the high is too hot. Really needs a medium heat. It does unfortunately cause some breakage. Overall it does work great.

I absolutely love this hair dryer, brush styler from Hot Tools! I have fine hair that has a tendency to wave in the back. Using this product is so easy to use. It smooths out my hair perfectly. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone with fine hair wanting to smooth it out. It will probably work for any hair type, it just needs patience to get it to look good..
