Omg…I think I’ve finally found the perfect conditioner for my hair type (and I’ve went through a ton of them in my 46 years). Lets start with saying my thyroid caused my hair to start falling out and become frizzy/dry. My hair is color-treated and wavy. I flat-iron and wash my hair every other day and this stuff has seriously brought my hair back to life with several compliments on it that I haven’t had in a long time. Most the time I start out loving a hair product only to find it ends up with the rest of them, heading to the goodwill for one reason or another. I have been using this for over a year and will stray to try the next eye catching, magazine rated top products of the year (you would think I’d learn), only to come back to old faithful. The smell is heavenly and last all day into the next.

I’m glad I purchased the travel sizes of both the shampoo and conditioner, because at least it wasn’t too much of a waste! Ugh. Some reviewers loved the fragrance, I am NOT one of them. The scent isn’t awful in the bottle but once on the hair, and after rinsing off – it dries down to a musky body odor scent. Yuck! Now I realize all our chemistry is different and much like Parfums, they’ll smell different on different people so obviously, it may smell fabulous on someone else – but definitely not me.
Now for the moisturizing/hydration factor – neither the shampoo or the conditioner felt moisturizing while applying to my hair, which is long and somewhat thin, but I have a lot of it – and it’s naturally wavy/curly (think 1980s hair!) It’s prone to being dry and frizzy, but its in pretty good shape since I rarely blow dry or use hot styling tools, but because of the texture and type, it does require a lot of care and my hair is extremely picky when it comes to products. So again, we’re all different. But compared to brands I’ve used like Kerastase, it’s not as moisturizing (during and after shampoo it was pretty tangled) and not much “slip” in the conditioner either. As I was disappointed by both the fragrance AND the performance, I had to rewash my hair immediately TWICE with a lemon clarifying shampoo just to remove the awful scent.

This product is not only a great conditioner, but the smell is delicious. Every time I use it, someone tells me how great I smell! So, I got the body lotion! My hair is very dry. It’s naturally curly, so when it dries naturally it feels okay, but whenever I blow it dry, if I don’t use this conditioner, it is a brittle mess. This actually may be too much conditioner for most people. I try not to use it directly on my scalp and aim for everything 2 inches from the scalp and down so my scalp doesn’t get too oily. My individual strands are thin but I have a lot of it. So the scalp/root area can look too flat. So if you have a similar situation, I suggest keeping it away from your scalp.

I have long/thick air and this is the first conditioner that does the job with just 3 pumps. It’s expensive but worth every penny. My hair has never felt healthier, I’ve been using the product for a year now after getting it as a gift. 1000000/10!

I was recommended this conditioner about 5 years ago from my hairstylist, whose salon was exclusively using L’eau de Mare on their clients.
From the first wash, I could tell my hair felt a lot more hydrated and silky. I have curly hair, and this works great on my hair. Not sure how this would work on finer or straight hair, but for my curls it’s been a blessing. I’ve noticed less frizz and A LOT more control and have been using it exclusively the last 5 years. I’ve attached a photo of my natural curls, after I’ve used the L’eau de Mare shampoo & conditioner and let my hair air dry (no other products).
Now, it’s definitely not cheap, but I do believe it is worth the price. Of course, I’d love it even more if it was a bit cheaper, but the price hasn’t stopped me yet from staying loyal to L’eau de Mare. Also, the smell is really beautiful. I always get compliments on my freshly washed hair – it smells like you just got out of the salon (an expensive salon). lol.
Anyways, I highly recommend it – especially, for those with curly or wavy hair 🙂
