This was a pleasant smelling body wash. It’s a gentle scrub and gives a nice tickle when you rub it all over your body. You can squeeze some on your hand or apply it to a sponge to get it to lather better. It feels nice and refreshing after I used it and get out of the shower.

It’s definitely more comfortable to use in the warmer months of the year since it leaves a cool feeling on you. It comes out black because of the charcoal but doesn’t stain your skin. It’s not cheap so this is a treat to use. I liked it.

My husband has used Jack Black products before, back when there wasn’t a huge selection of men’s grooming products available in the market. It has been a while since he’s used Jack Black but after using this product he’s since gotten a few other products again. He really liked this body exfoliating cleanser. It has little “grains” but isn’t too rough or abrasive on the skin, yet cleans a little better than “normal” body wash without the exfoliators. It has a masculine scent as this line is geared towards men, but this isn’t one of those super masculine scents that screams “I’m a real man!”. My husband and I share a bathroom and I have to admit I have used this cleanser a few times, even though I have about 5 bottles of my own body wash just next to it. This is a good product and you can’t go wrong with Jack Black products. It is a brand that has been around for quite a while, way before the explosion of men’s grooming products as we see available now in the marketplace.

Everything I’ve tried from Jack Black has been good quality and delivers. I especially like the facial lotion with spf.

A very nice exfoliating cleanser that gives you a deep cleansing while it helps to exfoliate dead skin cells and other debris. It’s a medium to darkish charcoal colored substance that is a bit thick, though just thin enough to pour into your hand. Though this is a body buff, it’s actually gentle and clean enough to use on the face. There are plenty of tiny granules in this that you can see them when you pour a little into your hand. These are the smaller and safer granules that I find don’t irritate the skin. For my combination skin, I’ve always found that I have to avoid a lot of facial scrubs because they are way too abrasive and cause me to break out. The finer ones are okay though. They are much gentler even though they will scrub away all of that excess sebum and other unwanted surface debris. For the rest of the body, it’s very gentle and much softer and easier along the skin. Great for those who don’t like a really gritty body polish.

There is a mild scent to this that is definitely noticeable. Smells a bit manly, but not so much that a woman wouldn’t want to use this. Sort of like a man’s aftershave lotion, but there’s a hint of something else. I’m thinking it’s some sort of lime or other citrus type of scent in the mix, though I’m not sure. It actually smells quite good and clean. It’s not heavy and you will not smell it after you’ve rinsed this away.

Leaves the body feeling nice and clean, as well as soft and smooth. Though this does moisturize the skin, it will not leave you with an oily tub or residuals along the skin surface.

All in all, this is really a very nice body polish. Though it’s meant to be for men, I have no doubt that there are also plenty of women out there who will also like this cleanser.

I have to say, I am very impressed with this stuff. Jack Black’s Charcoal Body Exfoliating Cleanser has a perfect balance of body wash and exfoliating, and a wonderful scent that is not overpowering or too subtle. It all comes together really well. I recommend using it in your hands and not in a loofa or sponge because the exfoliating pieces will get lost and you won’t really get their benefit. So I use it in my hands and lather it up that way. It is an expensive bottle and you get a good amount to work with. However, I am using mall amounts so that I don’t go through it too fast. I would want to buy another bottle when that day comes, but, as I said, it’s expensive. So we will see how free I am with my wallet that day. But the price is not deterring my review as I think it’s completely worth it.

Jack Black Charcoal Body Buff Exfoliating Cleanser, 16 oz.

Love this body wash. I also am not a body wash fan, I know this is. I prefer bar soap but this body wash is impressive and is one of the few I would use instead of a bar. It’s filled with little charcoal pieces that exfoliate very well. I didn’t need to use the exfoliation gloves I normally do. It also lathers up into a very rich creamy texture that’s almost a lotion feeling.

    Pros-
Exfloates better than any other body wash I’ve used.

The scent is fantastic. It’s on the lighter side but masculine. It smells a bit like a light cologne. I really enjoy it.

Lathers up very well. I was impressed with how rich this gets with a little water. Hydrates while it exfoliates.

Results are great. My arms/legs feel soft and smooth after using this. All around my skin feels renewed.

    High-Quality ingredients.

    Cons-
It is a bit pricey for a body wash but one of the few I would reorder.

The fragrance may not be the best for sensitive skin. I didn’t have any issues but did want to mention the concern.

All in all, this stuff is fantastic. I had tried one other product from this brand and it was ok. This product is impressive. The scent is so similar to some of my favorite colognes that I immediately was a fan. Then add in the thick lather and the tony charcoal pieces, and you have a great cleanser. This makes me want to try more of their products but this one particularly I will be reordering.

I’ve been using this for about a month now. Nice clean scent and the exfoliating is nice. It’s pricier than I’d normally buy body wash for but I’ve enjoyed this product.
