I ordered Dusty Orchid Shimmer on a whim. I don’t usually spend $14.95 on lip color at this point in my life(I used to buy top of the line make up from department stores). I have to say this is a nice product! It’s worth the money because the color is great and flattering, it’s not sticky nor Does it disappear Immediately after you put it on. The color is buildable, but then it comes off more easily. It’s moisturizing and the color lasts if you don’t go crazy with it. There are several colors I’d love to try. But I think I’ll try this one out for longer than a couple of days before I invest in more. But if you feel like treating yourself to a nice moisturizing lip color, I say go for it with this product! I do use a lip liner with it, as with other, sheer Or moisturizing lip products because I’m 56 and my lip outline can use a little boost to keep it neat and keep the color in place. I used a neutral Sephora lip balm with it and it was fine. The color blended and didn’t look weird. It looked natural but finished in attractive way! I don’t like to include photos with my reviews, but if I was going to, this would be a product that I would take a selfie with (If I took selfies regularly and not just to make sure look OK and then delete the photo). I looked too much like my mom and my dad in selfies for my own comfort, even though I’m MUCH thinner than either of them! Too thin to feel comfortable with random photos of myself. Blah, blah, blah!
My point here is that it’s a great product so far and if you want a nice product without going overboard, I highly recommend this. Even without trying it on, and only a photo of the color and some reviews to go on I took a chance and it really was worth it! Normally, I buy Burt’s Bees colored lip balm, but this lip color lasts longer. It doesn’t have the nice minty taste- In fact, it has no discernible taste at all, which I find unusual. No fragrance like Chanel products. No taste like Burt’s Bees etc. Just moisturizing color that stays in place, especially if you use Lip liner because you’re getting a little bit older or you just appreciate a very neat lip outline! 👄
Thanks for taking the time to read this review and I hope it helps! I find reviews very helpful so I tried to leave them whenever I’m impressed or terribly disappointed. This one is because I’m impressed!

Works great as balm, my lips did not feel dry at all for hours. Colour is pretty pigmented and shows up as a nice maroon on darker lips.

Penso sia diventato ufficialmente il mio lip balm preferito, colora e ammorbidisce le labbra in modo del tutto naturale! Sicuramente comprerò in altre colorazioni.

This is a moisturizing lip product but the problem with it is the applicator…It becomes incredibly messy as you apply your lip product and I have to keep wiping it clean. Wish it were in a bullet format. Gorgeous color.

  5. boricua

Not sticky feels so good on your lips
I just have to get the right color for me because the one I got is a lot darker in person, but I do love it so much that I kept it It feels so good on your lips

  6. Christy

I love that it doesn’t feel dry or too glossy. It feels like I’m wearing a good chapstick and it stays in place; no smudging!! Colors are beautiful! Just wish the name of the color would be somewhere on the stick

  7. Chiara

… direi buon prodotto, anche se il colore è un po’ diverso. Non ho avuto nessuna allergia post uso.

The title says it all really. I love the product itself. It behaves more like a lip stain once dry but doesn’t dry my lips at all. The 90s neutral is just that, except back then it would’ve been matte. This is a gloss so obviously it’s shiny, but not too shiny. It’s a really nice everyday product, fresh looking without seeming too “done.” The bad. I hate these new gloss pencils like children’s crayons. It’s really messy to apply and it’s not really a product you can use a brush on due to the core. Since it’s so pigmented I wouldn’t dare apply it without a mirror. Years ago the body shop had a similar product (it was really crap and dried one’s lips like the Sahara) but it was easier to apply since the start had been cut like a lip stick which seems to make all the difference. So to sum up, yes, it’s nice but please make it easier to apply neatly.

This balm is so perfect. I love the color but the most important thing is that is that it feels soft and it doesn’t bleed and just makes my lips feel very nice. I’m 65 and my lips get dry easy so I have to always have some kind of lipstick or lipgloss but I don’t really want to have heavy lipstick anymore. This is definitely the best thing I found. Definitely will be getting different shades.

    I’m very happy with this!
Even more so that I managed to get it on offer after pondering for months over which colour to choose (brown sugar.)
Now I need every single one!
It doesn’t feel sticky which is a must for me.
It smells lovely, also another must.
Cruelty free, the most important must!
It’s also buildable, or you can apply it with the vitamin E core on your lips which mutes the colour a bit. Use the sides for a more pigmented application.
This has immediately become my new favourite tinted lip balm.

This is my go-to lipstick now. I have light blonde hair and I also occasionally go to a darker blonde. It compliments both shades. This ‘balm’ feels great — it’s a semi-gloss, smooth feeling lipstick.

  12. suzzi_Y

Great product one if the best I’ve ever had rich in color and very creamy lips looking just beautiful

  13. Sam Everette

I’ve purchased several shades of lip balm from Julep and really like the product. When my newest shade (90’s Neutral) arrived, the tube was a third smaller than my previous tubes. So basically, I paid the same price for a glorified sample size. Tinted balms don’t last as long as traditional lipsticks and this won’t last long. The shade is beautiful, but I wouldn’t have ordered it had I known it would be so small! #sizematters
