  1. Amazon Customer

I been using this product for many years. It works but… Yes, there is “BUT!!!” Amazon would not allow me to post negative review.

This product is singularly responsible for ending my adult acne. Seriously!! My face was horribly broken out for years and I tried numerous products to no avail – until this. I was constantly broken out on my chin and upper neck, and within weeks everything was completely clear. It is strong, so start by using it sparingly and work up slowly. Also, make sure you’re using a good moisturizer with it – if your skin doesn’t get enough moisture this product may actually cause more breakouts. I use a water based moisturizer plus camellia oil and my skin is super happy and glowing.

This is not a product review because I didn’t even had the chance to try it out.
The lotion arrived without its original box, it had been used, the pump was broken (there was no way you could get the product out of it), and on top of that, some one thought I was really dumb not see that they tried to erase to expiration date which is 03/15 at the bottom of the bottle. I’m sorry but this review does not even deserve a star, it should be a minus 5 star.

After contacting the seller they sent a brand new product. Still it had a weird smell, but I believe it is just the was it smells. After trying it out for last months I must say it works ok. I was expecting better results then using EFFACLAR DUO from LA ROCHE (they share similar ingredients – Benzoyl Peroxide- ) but the it was pretty similar. Would buy again just to use in combination with other acne products.

I’m in my late 30’s and have always struggled with my skin and breakouts. This product has been a life saver for me! My skin will never be perfectly clear but this keeps my breakouts to a minimum.

This is not an overnight acne eraser, but that’s why I like it – it’s gentle. I don’t use it every night and not on my whole face, because it is drying if used consistently. It will also bleach your towels if you wash your hands after applying, but that is an inherent drawback of benzoyl peroxide. I’ve always had difficulty finding an effective spot treatment that wouldn’t destroy the surrounding skin or leave a dark spot after drying out the pimple. This is the perfect balance of effectiveness and gentleness. I’ve learned the hard way over the years that patience is key when dealing with acne. Even oil-free moisturizers will cause breakouts when over-used to compensate for an acne product that is too drying, and dry/flaky/rough skin will make you more prone to bacteria build up and clogged pours. Treat your skin right, and keep it healthy.

I have been trying to find a product that works for so so long. My sister recommended this to me and it is truly like a miracle. Super gentle and very effective. Noticed improvement right away. I only use it where I am most likely to breakout. I recommend this to others all the time, it has been that significant for me.

I have very dry skin (and eczema)- so I have to be careful what I use on my face. Because I use a lot of oils at night- my chin was breaking out more often. Since using this, it’s drastically reduced. There have been a few breakthrough issues- but overall, my skin looks SO much better! It doesn’t dry it out either and I use a touch in the AM and PM. I’ve tried many products, and none have worked as well!

I had tried this originally about three months ago. My acne was really bad. I am a college student with a lot of stress. It got to the point where people were pointing it out to me that my face looked terrible. I had tried everything, ProActive, the dermatologist (Rx’s), AcneFree, aspirin, Neutrogena’s natural collection, Clearasil, Clean and Clear, Cetaphil, Oxy, alcohol pads, witch hazel, hydrogen peroxide, etc.

When I came back for Thanksgiving break, my sister had put me on a face routine. I washed with Ole Henriksen Aloe Vera Deep Cleanser (it didn’t strip my face of my natural oils, but it still felt clean). I then used Dr. Dennis Gross’ Alpha Beta facial peel pads followed by this product, Kate Somerville Anti Bac Clearing Lotion. My face got a little dry so she had me use the moisturizer put out by Kate Somerville. I used the same products at night (except for the facial peel pads) and in addition used Kate Somerville’s EradiKate sulfur treatment. Within the few days I was home, I could already see a difference. But then I went back to school and my face exploded all over again. I get the cyst acne, particularly on my chin. And these will not go away for months. When I got back to school my sister sent me with the cleanser and facial peel pads. I purchased this Anti Bac lotion myself but didn’t get it for a few weeks into school. My face was already looking better by the time I started using this, but for the past few nights, I haven’t had to use the sulfur treatment. Even though I have only used this lotion for less than a week, I can already see a difference in my acne. My face is actually completely smooth with the exception of a few diminishing bumps. Now I just need to keep it clear and work on the scarring. If anyone has tips for that let me know!

Additionally, my sister is having me wash my face and apply lotion with only one hand to minimize face touching and drying with paper towels to avoid contaminating my face with bacteria from a cloth towel.

The only complaint I have about this lotion is that it smells weird. The first time I used it I do not remember it smelling weird. I can’t really describe the smell. After it’s on my face I can’t smell it, but when I am putting it on, I can.

Oh yes and one more thing, I also use Quene Helene’s Mint Julep face mask whenever I start seeing my pores opening up and/or blackheads forming. I’ll use that for a few days straight either during the day or I’ll leave it on at night. I have found this to work pretty well in my routine, too.
