I’ve used this paste for years now after washing my hair and would recommend it if you want your hair to hold its form without being too crunchy. You don’t need to use much, this container will last a long time.

My barber put this in my hair after a cut and I ordered it as soon as I got home because it smelled so good (you can’t actually smell it until it’s in your hair). It has a pretty good hold, but doesnt feel greasy or stiff – you can move your hair around after it’s in. It just adds some weight so that you can put your hair where you want it!

PURCHASED 2024 – – KEVIN MURPHY Free Hold Medium Hold Styling Paste New Formula – – Be careful when opening it for the first time. It’s a really thick lotion/paste texture and does move around in the container.
The smell is a bit old man woodsy type of smell. It’s not off-putting but not a smell he would choose if he were in person to smell and choose. A very little goes a long way so start with a smidge and build up as you style your hair. As you put more the hair looks more greasy and then gets weighed down. Works well with already dried hair, especially taming morning bed head.
Might prefer the more waxy texture, but this works fine. It would be personal preference.

Female here and I love this stuff. I have very short hair and this works great. Smell is pleasing and not overwhelming, it’s easy to spread evenly, and it holds *pretty* well but not nearly as much as hard wax, like Enjoy. I live in Arizona and it works very well in dry climates, but when I traveled to Costa Rica, it didn’t hold up as well in the humid rainforest so I had to add hairspray. It’s a fairly large container and a little goes a long way, so even though it’s pretty expensive, it lasts a long time. I bought it in late February and it’s now mid July and I’m just now running low.
