  1. Luffy’s Review Life

Kiehl’s is one of my go-to brand if I don’t know where to buy. They have products with good clinical backgrounds, and relatively transparent about the ingredients unlike many other mainstream brands. After trying a few Korean scalp scrubs, I decided to try Kiehl’s one. First, this works great and gives very refreshing feeling after use. I don’t like the coconut scent but still, it’s not overwhelming and goes away very quick after wash. Definitely my scalp was refreshed and removed most of the dead skin so it was much less flaky for a few days. The texture of the particle is very irritating but strong enough to remove scalp dead skin. It works wonder if you have itchy scalp as well. But I don’t like the viscosity and thickness of it and it’s relatively difficult to put the paste on the scalp directly due to the jar type container. Practically, you should put finger, get the product and apply the very thick product on to the scalp, and it is not very easy. I wish it had a tip tube type container with less thick texture so that I can directly squeeze out the product to the scalp. Regardless of the complain, it works good anyway. So I gave 5 stars!

I was sure at first about this product until I tried it. It gives your head a nice scrub and then turns into a delicious lather to wash. I do admit it isn’t the easy thing applying this to the scalp when you have longer hair. Smells nice and like I said gets a great lather going.

So far I really like this scalp scrub. I haven’t used a product like it before, but since I tend to have some issues with buildup and dandruff, I thought it would be good to try. I’ve used a few of Kiehl’s products recently, and overall I like the brand and their ingredients. If you haven’t used a scalp scrub before, you may be surprised to find that the product is gritty in texture. Though because I think most of the grit is from chunks of sea salt, it starts to break down as you apply it to wet hair and easily dissolves once you rinse your hair. I don’t normally like scented products, but I actually found the coconut scent of this product to be mild and pleasant. It seems to work well, and I’ve noticed that my dandruff and scalp itchiness have improved since I started using it! I think the only negative I would note is the price, $40 is a bit more than I would prefer to spend for the size of the container, but being that I only use it once a week, it will last me a decent amount of time.

I was somewhat skeptical of this treatment when ordering, but it has proven me wrong. As someone with very short hair, with just a little product and a little scrubbing into the scalp, my head feels completely exfoliated. Then, like magic, it lathers quite nicely and turns almost shampoo/conditioner-feeling, leaving my head feeling quite clean. Once it’s all off my head, I there’s a very pleasant clean and slight tingle feeling that really lets me know it’s working. I use this about once a week, and can’t recommend it enough

Though I don’t have an oily scalp, I do use a lot of products in my hair over the week, so I figured I would try this to help clean my scalp. I was so impressed! This was my first ever try at a scalp scrub detox. I have shoulder length, curly hair and I started by working in small amounts to my scalp to sections of my hair prior to getting it wet. Once my entire scalp has been massaged, I got my hair under the water and continued to massage, and it created the richest lather! The scent is amazing also- a creamy coconut. It was easy to rinse out and having curly hair I continued on with conditioner. I styled my hair like usual- blowout straight. My hair looked so shiny and felt so soft! I will absolutely be doing this once a week!

  6. Ember

Pros: it smells nice, it gets a decent lather
Cons: instructions don’t tell you how much to use. texture – it’s really thick and chunky. I’ve used other scalp scrubs that have a finer texture, this one is chunky and gritty and with thick hair I felt like the chunks were getting stuck in my hair. They do tell you to section your hair to get to the roots, but I still found this more difficult to use than other scrubs I’ve used in the past. It’s meant to replace shampooing once a week but I don’t feel like it got my hair clean enough to do that.

I’ve found the Kiehl’s Amino Acid Scalp Scrub Detox Treatment to be quite effective for detoxifying and exfoliating my scalp. It provides a good scrub, leaving my scalp feeling refreshed and clean. The combination of salicylic acid and sea salt is gentle yet effective for removing buildup and promoting a healthy scalp. However, there are a couple of drawbacks to note. Firstly, the scrub can be a bit oily, which may not suit everyone’s preferences, especially those with oily hair. Secondly, the scrub itself tends to fall apart during application, making it a bit messy to use. Another issue is that I often find I need to wash my hair twice to completely remove the product, which can be a bit time-consuming. Despite these minor inconveniences, the scalp scrub does deliver on its promise of detoxifying and exfoliating effectively. Overall, if you’re looking for a scalp scrub that provides a thorough cleanse and helps maintain scalp health, this Kiehl’s product is worth considering. Just be prepared for the slight challenges in application and removal.

  8. Carol77

I have short hair, but it is curly so it was hard to work into my scalp. It also wasn’t as ‘gritty’ as some other scrubs that I’ve used, so it didn’t feel as exfoliating (although it does contain chemical exfoliants as well as physical–I just like the scrubby feel that some other brands have more of). The directions say to use in place of shampoo, but I still had to wash my hair because this did not remove the product that I had in my hair. Overall, it left my scalp feeling clean and my hair looks fine, but there are other scrubs that I prefer at this price point.
