If you’re looking for something to step up your curl game, this is it! My friends have commented on how my “waves” are more like ringlets and curly now. The right product really does make a big difference. I found this product from Curly Hair Candice on Instagram and she had some great tips for breaking the cast so your hair isn’t crunchy. My hair is fairly fine so a little definitely goes a long way.

The best botanical gel I have ever used. You don’t need a lot to start. I usually section my hair in four and then apply a quarter sized amount to each section, raking it in. I thought 8oz wouldn’t get me far but one jar can last me 3 months. My type 4 haor loces this stuff.

I have found the key to frizz control. I have finer, 2 a/b waves (and some c that hide underneath where nobody can see!) My hair tends to frizz regardless of product or styling methods, even though it’s not out of control, it’s there. I avoided this custard/gel for a long time because I assumed it would be too heavy on my hair but it got such rave reviews everyone that I tried it and OMG… i can honestly say my waves look fantastic and there is basically no frizz. It has a ridiculous amount of cast, which I need to keep my waves from breaking up and getting fuzzy. So I did use more than I thought I needed and my hair was super crunchy but after SOTC it felt soft! One thing to note, when I was applying the gel, it felt icky, I won’t lie. I was worried that it would leave me with icky results but it was totally the opposite. The price point is great too because you don’t need a ton and if you only wash 2-3 times a week like me, this container will last months. TRY IT!!

Edit: Figured out my day 2 and 3 curls. I wet my hair with a spray bottle. Apply Curls Blueberry Bliss and scrunch, then apply a thin amount of gel with prayer hands and scrunch again. Love this gel.
For reference I have low density, fine, wavy-curly hair. I am mixed with Italian and black and my hair frizz is extremely hard to tame. I live in Georgia with humidity and semi hard water. Now on to the review.
I had been using the Kinky Curly shampoo and Knot Today leave-in for a couple of months and really liked the products, so decided to try out the gel. Turns out these are some of the best curls I have ever gotten. I washed with Come Clean, deep conditioned with Deva Curl Heaven in Hair, added Knot Today leave in and then applied the curling custard. The gel goes on smooth and left me with no wet frizz. It dried into a cast that was easy to break and left my hair soft and moisturized. The gel texture resembles flaxseed gel so it is somewhat wet and slippery which I think helps it blend into my hair better than any other gel I’ve used before (which includes Shea, Mixed Chicks, Curls Blueberry Bliss, Aussie, Garnier, Eco Styler). It just glided on. For this specific photo I actually washed my hair in the night, and wrapped it with a silk scarf while it was still half wet and could already feel the cast. In the morning I undid my wrap and shook the hair out to break the cast and voila! Big spiral curls. They we’re so beautiful. I honestly wasn’t expecting these results. In this pic I didn’t style upside down (I did side ways) which is why my roots are not springy, but that was on purpose as I wanted to wear my hair half up half down with a relatively smooth top. In the end the curls lasted about 75% of the day, which is great. I was out and about at the park and my son tussles my hair a lot. Very satisfied. I haven’t been able to figure out the next day curls yet, but I am super happy with the wash day results and am pretty sure I can figure out how to work this into 3 days without washing. This gel doesn’t dry my curls.

The product works exceptionally well. You don’t need a lot to get the job done. If you use too much, you may get a hard crispy hair-spray appearance (unless you like that look of course). I would say for a full head of thick curly hair shoulder length, use a quarter size of product. Use when hair is wet & comb it through for even distribution. Many times I just use it on the ends of my hair. It holds your curls well. The smell is decent. The product has a sticky consistency. I would like to see this product less expensive. Although the quality is good, it seems too expensive for the amount of product that you get. I go through these pretty quickly because I use it pretty much daily. You can also use it as a light gel to lay edges (It’ll keep edges tamed but don’t expect them to lay completely flat). Lastly, I like that it does NOT leave a powdery or flakey residue. I would highly recommend this product.

This is a good gel however I believe it is used for more fine hair not for thick more coarse hair. This is good for wash and go especially if you trying to achieve the Wet-look.

I read about this product in a review on Facebook that ranked it number 1 for curly hair. I have lots of hair which tends to frizz. This product is amazing! I put it on when my hair is very wet. It applies really well and that’s it. I let it dry naturally and my curls are great with no frizz! I’ve been getting compliments on my hair all week. I thought I would share my feedback with the rest of you. You should definitely try it. You won’t be disappointed!

For my c3 curly hair that is relatively thin, this custard is heavenly. I scrunch it upside down into my dripping wet hair in the shower, towel it up for a while and let it air dry. Holds and enhances my curls for days until the new wash. You can wet your hair a bit every morning and the custard reactivates. Perfect!

I’m on my own journey of figuring out what type of curl my hair is and what products work. This is my holy grail gel, smells amazing, you don’t need a massive amount of product so it lasts so long. It crunches out easily, doesn’t weigh hair down and helps really maintain the curl pattern

I’m so impressed at how hydrating and light this stuff is. It was also the only thing I needed for my wash n go on type 3/4 hair. It really accentuated my curls and the smell is not overpowering either. I really don’t care for the smell though. And it’s pretty sticky.

This product is great for my curls! I have 2B/C curls, and it makes them tighter and holds them together well. The texture is very gel like and I like mixing it with a cream or mousse to make it a little less sticky. Would definitely repurchase!
