I have always been an avid Japanese sunscreen users for awhile now and decided to try something new. My go-to is usually the Biore Aqua Essence, affordable, light-weight, feels like your skin, and protects. This Sunkiller sunscreen definitely reminded me of the Biore one except that it is alcohol-free and it comes out white.
The bottle is pretty small/average for Japanese sunscreens. Upon usage, it doesn’t have an alcohol scent as stated, but a rather pleasant smell. When applying, it comes out white but does not leave a white cast at all. Honestly, it’s a good sunscreen and feels light-weight but the only thing that turned me off was how SHINY, I looked. Maybe you’re into the glass/shiny skin, but I am absolutely not one for it because I have an oily T-zone. See photos for what I mean* The shininess stayed with me throughout the day.
Overall, I rate it a 3/5. I will NOT be purchasing this again just because there are better sunscreens out there.

I use it plain or I add some liquid foundation to add some color to my face and it works beautifully!

I have dark skin and I used to use the original version of Biore UV water essence when it used to be sold in the US. They stopped selling that and changed the formula for US markets and I’ve had a tough time finding one that works. This is a good alternative to the Biore UV. While it is slightly thicker than Biore UV (I attached a few photos with this review. The one on the right is Biore UV, the one on left is this one), it doesn’t show on my dark skin once I rub it in (yes, it takes a bit longer for it to get “absorbed”), it is reasonably light weight and didn’t yet cause any allergic reactions on my face. That said, I’ve just started using it so I’ll update this review if something changes.

I have brown skin and I always reach for Asian sunscreens since they’re so good at blending away without leaving a white cast. Highly recommend this one, I just only wish it had a pump.

I adore this sunscreen. Pleasant scent, texture, and protection! The only thing I noticed is that with some powder makeup on top it can look a bit cakey, but with liquid makeup on top it is wonderful! It is still worth 5 stars because the protection is so good

Japanese sunscreens are the best, Applies like a lotion and is never greasy or shiny, just smooth and soft. None of the high end, popular sunscreens can match it. You don’t have to be uncomfortable with a greasy face anymore to protect yourself from the sun.

The ISEHAN Sunkiller Perfect Water Essence Sunscreen Gel is one of the best facial sunscreens I’ve ever used. Japanese sunscreens are on a whole separate level – the sunscreen goes on super smoothly, feels like you’re wearing nothing at all on your skin, and it plays well with makeup. This particular bottle is the real deal – I bought sunscreen in Japan, used it all, and was hoping that the sunscreen was legit – and it was! It’s light, has the same soft citrusy scent, and work perfectly at protecting my skin. It doesn’t drip or come off when you’re sweating, and is perfect for everyday use. It’s a high-quality Japanese sunscreen that I would buy again.
