I got one of these as a gift and loved how easy it applied to the skin and how well it protected me from any sunburn. I use it on face, arms and hands. So I bought two more to have. It does leave light smooth later on the skin but no white residue. East to pick for travel.

I’ve been looking for a sun stick that I could put over my makeup. I saw this one a video and thought I’d give it a try. I was amazed at how powdery smooth it was. It literally glided over my makeup. Although it did have a small amount of blush on the stick, it wasn’t enough to bother me. I highly recommend it and will continue buying it. Small and doesn’t take up space in my purse.

I used to love this product so much after trying it and buying it when I was in Korea. I then started getting people to send it to me from Korea and then when I found it online, I started buying it online. I even write reviews of beauty products and chose this one as one of the best Korean beauty products of the year when it came out. That’s how much I believed in this product and loved it. But when I bought it this past time, I felt like it had changed somehow? I don’t know if it’s a different formula they’re using these days or what, but it feels like it is clogging up my pores when I use it. I put it on and it still feels super nice and smells awesome. My makeup goes on really nicely over it— all that is the same. But within twenty minutes or so, I start sweating and I feel like my pores can’t breathe. I also feel like it’s caked on and my pores are truly just blocked, so I get kind of clammy and sweaty so quickly. It’s like the SPF is different or something. People with sensitive skin will know what I’m talking about… if you’re at the beach and you use a normal SPF/sunscreen product, you know how you get that kind of greasy, caked on feeling where you feel sweaty after a few minutes? That’s exactly what I felt like with this product this past time and I NEVER used to feel that way before.
I wondered if my skin is just undergone a change due to age, perimenopause etc. So, I tried a similar Japanese SPF gel cream. With it, however, I got all the same benefits I used to get with this product (great SPF, smooth application under makeup, nice smell, non-greasy formula, etc), but I didn’t have the caked-on feeling or get sweaty or clogged pores. With that Japanese product, the SPF number wasn’t quite as high. So it didn’t have quite as much protection. However, that product was a tinted gel (green, yellow or purple) so it did have benefits of evening out complexion like a primer and in a gel instead of powder application like this stick I’ve always loved, it had the added benefit of hydration for people with dry skin.
So, I threw this old faithful stick into my beach bag and will just use it there when it won’t matter if I’m sweaty etc but it won’t feel nice having that clogged pore feeling even at the beach. Because clogged pores can definitely lead to acne etc even just after a day of being like that. So when it runs out, I def won’t be ordering again unless I hear it changes back to whatever formula it was before (or if maybe this was just an old or bad batch). So sad because this was one of my staple K-beauty products.
