I’ve used a been using a razor since the beginning of my hairless journey. I was always too scared to wax after a traumatizing eyebrow waxing in a salon – I broke out with a terrible reaction. After that I knew I had sensitive skin and was always wary. I’ve finally decided to give waxing another chance but there was no way I was going to pay for another bad experience – at least at home I can blame myself haha. Anyways, saw this great deal on Amazon. This set in particular is so cute, and isn’t an eyesore in my space. My underarms were the first sacrifice. And guess what? Amazing results. It took a while to get the temperature right, but once I got it right (a bit below the suggested temp), it was smooth rolling. My armpits look like the ones you see in deodorant commercials. Almost flawless – the wax pulled each hair from the root which got rid of the dark shadow. No more need for pit lightening creams and diys! I’m ready to order some more wax beads – I found the hard wax (white beads) to be easier to use in all places.

aloha yall, I was very intimidated by this little cutie machine but I love the results! I do not like the instruction manual, as a newbie to waxing in general it was a bit of a learning curve watching YouTube videos & reading up on it myself.

However, for the cost (got it lightning deal too!) it is so worth it!! I tested out on my legs first. I chose the beige beads it comes with, a whole pack. It doesn’t say you have a choice to pour it into the metal container with white handle or the silicone bowl extra piece. I had put it to 150* thinking like everyone else says it would go all the way up fire then come down.. but after waiting the 10_15 minutes the beads were not mending at all & temp stayed at 150, so I had to turn it all the way up to the max then wait another 15 minutes or so, all together 30+ minutes… so grab a favorite drink chill out & allow yourself some time to learn the machine.

It cooled off pretty quickly once it came back down to the 150* & turned green, can also take silicone out to cool faster. Next up is learning how to manuever the popsicle sticks & how to gauge the wax consistency… this part was a little confusing because it seemed really runny but still “like honey” & still hot so I tested it on my wrist & the temp was fine.

So if it doesn’t drip after the 2 seconds when you spin the wax bulb like honey, you’re good to go. I started with small patch next on my leg but it was a little too thick but it worked. The hard part for me is remembering to with the grain when applying the wax as it’s so opposite muscle I’ve been shaving my whole life😩 & I messed that up, noticed it wasn’t as smooth but still worked … but once I got the application part down it was then applying the correct thickness / circular patches like oval shape so that you have a little grip to pull off (against the grain)… I definitely got better as I went along & next time won’t be so tired😂 🙈 but I think I used too much as it took me both 100g packs for my legs & still have a bit to fix… would have been good for them to say how many beads per area of body ti have an idea ~ I’m gonna keep trying at it because it’s worth the money saved not going to get it done every couple months!

DO NOT BUY!!!!! I bought this as a gift for my sister after she had been begging me for months we got it and it was working great 3 months later it stopped working out of nowhere. Still turns on but doesn’t get hot enough to melt beads. The seller refuses to contact me back after multiple attempts of reaching out. The seller page it says return or exchange 100% guaranteed if you are not happy with the purchase but they don’t want to return or exchange your product! They will give you the run around and won’t replace the damaged items, these are cheaply made and not meant to last BEST ADVICE: DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!

If you’re a beginner like me, don’t buy these beads. They take forever to dry and stick on everything, and leave such a messy residue even if the strip comes off in one piece. Even soap and water isn’t gonna get all of the tiny residue out.. But the heater is really good, love the silicone bowl as well.

I’d like to state that I am a novice at waxing. I have a terrible reaction to shaving. No matter the blade, technique, or aftercare product, I seem to always end up with terrible razor bumps that hurt badly. With summer coming up, I decided I’ve had enough and want to feel confident showing my legs again. I did quite a bit of research regarding different products and how to wax properly. I watched lots of videos as well- some helpful and some scary. But I quickly learned the scary ones were truly human error or a lack of practice. I’m hoping that sharing my experience can help another beginner like me!

Since I wasn’t sure how my skin would react to waxing, I didn’t want to spend a fortune. But I also wanted to do it right. This was a wonderful deal. The warmer is super cute (I got the pink one), and it’s small enough to fit on my bathroom shelf. It’s also not an eye sore and I don’t feel the need to hide it somewhere. Shipping was fast and everything was exactly as described.

The manual was very helpful, although I do think it would have touched more on how to operate the actual warmer. However, it ended up not being an issue because it’s easy-peasy. After plugging in and pouring your wax beads, you simply turn the dial to the temp you’d like. 155-160 was perfect for me. The manual does address this, but you must remember that the warmer is going to reach its max temp in order to fully melt the wax (240 something- extremely hot!) The digital reader will rise and then fall back down to your set temp. There’s also a red/green light to let you know when it’s ready (it took about a total of 10-15 minutes.) Test a small amount on your inner wrist before diving into it. This will give you an idea of how it will feel and if the consistency is correct. I feel that it needs to be a bit thicker than honey… more like condensed milk.

There is definitely a learning curve to this whole process. Holding horizontally and twisting the stick is your best friend. This helps to create a bulb at the end of the stick. I recommend also using an up and down motion as you twist, similar to a handshake, to separate any strings hanging onto the bulb. If there is any dripping, the wax is way too hot, but this should not happen if you keep it between 155-160. I started on my leg and the technique wasn’t hard to learn, but I was getting sad when I wasn’t picking up much hair. I took a break from that and tried my armpit. This is where I learned a lot. Because my armpits are more sensitive than my legs, and I was anxious about the pain, I peeled the wax much sooner than I was before. It ripped out every hair. And I mean ALL of it. And the pain was so minimal, it took me all of 2 minutes to finish both armpits. The directions say to peel after 30-45 seconds, but this was too long and was making the wax un-stick to my hair. I found more success in waiting about 10 seconds, and so the rest of the waxing was smooth sailing.

I’m sure it can be different for people with other hair types and directions of growth, but I think patience and practice is key. I let my coarser hairs grow a bit longer than a grain of rice (which was an annoying 3 weeks, but it’s worth it!) My hairs grow at different speeds and thickness, so I can feel some of the small, finer hairs still. But I know waxing has to be done multiple times before it’s uniform and/or stops growing. You can always tweeze anything noticeable leftover. Overall, I am so satisfied and impressed with this purchase and couldn’t recommend it enough, especially for someone wanting to learn how. It’s been 24 hours and normally I’d be covered in painful bumps, but my skin is silky smooth and clear! I love that they also sell Kotamu wax beads separately so that you can keep using the brand if you adore it like I did!

    Works perfectly well.
FYI, With one 100g packet of the wax beads I was able to wax my legs from foot to knee, underarms, upper lip and side burns.
Does not bruise and effectively removes unwanted hair.

I was really pleased with how this wax warmer was working, and the wax was great too. However sadly the machine turned itself off and stopped working only 20 minutes of first use. I don’t know whether mine is faulty or what happened, but any advice would be greatly appreciated..

I read the instructions. Was too impatient for the wax to heat so slowly so i turned it all the way up then back down to the temp they said was okay. Applied the light yellow wax and it works. I’m black. My hairs are thick. I was surprised. My armpits are hair free. My first wax experience on myself second overall and it truly works. Took away 1 star because I couldnt get the max to not be runny. I waited and waited and waited and it wouldnt thicken. Maybe that’s just me idk. Love it still. 9/10 do recommend. (Gonna figure out how to clean the pot now and remove the excess residue due to my poor application)
