What I saw from an YouTuber’s video is that it should’ve been light yellow. However, the one I receive was transparent but didn’t have a bad smell nor did my skin react to it so. Issued it and I like it.

  2. Karen L

I have loved both this Vitamin C serum as well as this brands Vitamin A serum. Rather pricey for the small amount that you get, but it works nicely on my skin, making it more bright and smooth.

  3. Pippa

This is fantastic! Since I started using this, my skin’s really cleared up, and the tone is much more even. Everything just feels – and looks – calmed and clarified. I actually can’t remember the last time my skin looked this good. Even the stubborn spots around my chin have gone.

I’ve been using the serum together with Simple Spotless Skin Triple Action Face Wash (this was a great find for spotty but sensitive skin by the way), and taking high-strength vitamin C and zinc orally. I wanted to go for a double attack – inside and out!

I do have very sensitive skin, but this one just goes on beautifully with no warmth or stinging at all (tell-tale signs of irritation for me). It sinks into the skin quickly, isn’t greasy, and I can use it under BB cream or foundation. I find some products sort of ‘peel’ underneath make-up, leaving tiny clumps that look like dirt, but this doesn’t at all. It has no scent.

To begin with, I think I used a little too much of the product (I filled the dispenser to the top). I realised this was probably a bit of a waste. With somewhat more sparing usage, I’m hoping I can get much better value for money out of a bottle with the same results.

All in all, I’ve very happy with this purchase. I’ve just finished the first bottle, and have already ordered again.

I only use a vitamin C at night. I love this product and it is affordable.

I love vitamin c. I have used a thousand serums in my routine, but I’ve never been extremely happy with the results. Not even with the uber-famous (and uber-expensive) SkinCeuticals ferulic. The reason is that the form of vitamin they use (ascorbic acid) is unstable and sensitive to air/light, so they lose since day one the magic. Also, for extremely sensitive people, Ascorbic acid might be irritating/drying. But Still, vitamin c is an all-time star ingredient: protects skin from sun damage, repairs existing damage, and has amazing anti-aging properties (in vivo studies show reduction in wrinkles, dark spots, texture..) let aside the glow.
So I decided to change and add the Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate variation. The effects are almost identical, it’s gentle, AND most importantly, it’s not prone to oxidation at all, so the shelf-life is much much longer.
That’s how I found this little gem: a perfect formulated serum, both in ingredients, and PH. And after the first week, I was totally in love. Personally, I’m a fan of minimalist products in skincare, meaning the less unnecessary fillers, the better. This is why I love cerave, and this is also why I love mad Hippie: it has a short ingredient list, but ultra loaded with good stuff for the skin. The formula has a whopping 10% vitamin c(Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate-SAP). Maybe you think, why I use this instead of or regular C, backed by tons of research? According to science, SAP gets converted into ascorbic acid in the skin anyway. Also, multiple clinical trials have shown additional acne-fighting benefits that Ascorbic Acid does not. Short story, scientists know that lipid peroxidation (i.e. the oxidation of sebum) plays a MAJOR role in the development of acne, comedones and inflammation related to acne. Well, it turns out that SAP reduces sebum oxidation by up to 40%

Also, it’s not irritation. Regular Ascorbic Acid requires an inherently low pH to be effective, so it can be irritating if your skin is not used to chemical exfoliation. In fact, over exfoliation leads to destroyed moisture barrier. It also has vitamin e, that works in combination with c for photo protection against UV rays (premature aging, and potential damage to DNA), inhibits tyrosinase thereby reducing dark spots. As SkinCeuticals, it also has ferulic, that works synergistically with C and E for photo protection by inhibiting free radical formation and absorbs UV radiation. The super humectant, Hyalyrinuc acid is also part of the formul,a a well-known humectant, as well as Aloe Vera( antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, lightening, and healing properties). Konjac Root Powder (It has a ton of vitamins and minerals including A, E, C, D, B, copper, magnesium, iron, niacin, zinc, folic acid etc) Grapefruit (Antioxidant, antifungal, and secondary preservative. May have natural and gentle exfoliating properties) Chamomile Extract (flavonoids for sensitive skin, and inhibits free radical synthesis, and i vasodilator (i.e. increases blood flow to skin), Clary Sage (antioxidant and antimicrobial).
This serum is fantastic, also it has a very subtle scent, and has slippery texture that dries matte, non tacky at all (hello skinceuticals, )
So, if you are looking for a new addition to you routine, looking for extra hydration and photoprotecton and avoiding dryness, try this, it has totally changed my skin for good!

The serum is very light feeling when applying to face and neck, does not leave a greasy residue. You get a decent amount of product for the price compared to other products. It’s vegan, animal cruelty free and fits well in my travel makeup bag, has a screw on top to avoid leaks and comes in a glass bottle to avoid permeability of the product. The only room for improvement would be to enhance the smell. It does not smell bad it just doesn’t smell like anything, it’s essentially odorless which some people may prefer but personally I like a citrus smelling vitamin C product; however, this does not deter me from ordering many more bottles in the future. I would recommend this product, my skin feels great when I apply it!

  7. E. Walker

Recommended to me by a croupier in Vegas with the most INCREDIBLE skin. He looked 20 and was actually nearly 43, it was ridiculous. This was a key part of his regimen and his number one product – let me state here he put A LOT of additional work into his skin besides this product but said this one was the most important. I suffer from rosacea and I’ve found it to be helping already and I’ve only been using it 2 weeks. Makes my skin really smooth and I swear the little lines I have are improving. Fantastic product and natural too, will definitely be re-ordering.

  8. PN

Too soon to tell if it will improve fine lines, but I already notice a difference in brightness and moisturizing. Overall appearance has improved. Very good quality and absorbs quickly.

  9. Jenn Amber

I love that it has good ingredients. Has made a huge difference in my skin. I’ve been using it for about a year or maybe longer. Great bottle too.

  10. Alyssa Sabol

Great vitamin C serum for the money. Not thick or sticky. Not watery or too thin. Makes skin feel great.

  11. Joana

One of the best vitamin c for face! Authentic product

  12. Public Name

I chose this vitamin C serum over the Maelove serum simply over the slightly lower price and I read reviews claiming Mad Hippie is easier on sensitive skin. I really enjoy this serum, it doesn’t burn or feel irritating and my face feels brighter after a little over a week of use, so far. It does have sort of a tacky or sticky feeling to it so I have to be careful not to over apply but otherwise it’s great. Slight “clean” scent but not overpowering or irritating to my skin at all. Overall, great product so far.

  13. Mazbaz

I rarely write reviews cause I can’t be asked but when something is really good (or really bad) I force myself a little. I definitely recommend this product because it actually works! Well at least for me. I spent ages on the internet, and you know how all the product are always great and you don’t know what to go for and you that close to spending 100 quid out of desperation. Well I think I have for the first time ever made the right choice. Until I started using mad hippie my skin was dry and lumpy and after 2/3 days using it (yes 2/3 days) my skin became super smooth and healthy ( I also using a moisturizer though). It smells really nice and on top of everything it’s complety natural, ethical and affordable. Happy days. Go for it!
