I started out with another Vitamin C serum & switched to this once I knew my skin could handle it. The price is a bit higher than I would like but one bottle will last me about 1.5 months with every morning use. I can see a difference in my skin. I love this!

I rarely leave reviews but this vitamin C is sooo good! It is strong, potent, and good quality. I was using a cheaper vit c I found on Amazon before seeing a few dermatologists on TikTok recommend Maelove, and it didn’t do anything for my skin. When I tried Maelove for the first time, I could immediately tell the quality was significantly better and it was way more potent (it stung/burned a little after dermaplaning my face so I knew it was more potent because my other vit c never did that). There was a noticeable difference in my skin’s brightness after just a few uses. There is no odor like many other vit c serums have, which is great. This is a bit pricier than other vit c serums but still very affordable, and I will happily continue to pay a bit more for a quality product. This is the only vitamin c I will use from now on.

I wanted to try a cost effective L-Absorbic acid vitamin c serum and decided upon this brand due to claims that the formula was great for sensitive skin types. I have oily, sensitive, acne prone skin so I was aware that a purge could happen. I have tried a 10% L-Absorbic acid vitamin c serum in the past with no issues so I applied this serum every other day with an ample amount of drops to dry skin. Within 2 weeks I had a severe scar-inducing breakout and contact dermatitis. I had reduced my other actives in my routine and made a point not to use any other acids or Retenoid within 24 hours of using the vitamin c, but seems like my sensitive skin could not handle it. I feel the culprit was that I was using more than recommended starting out because the formula would sink into my skin so fast that I had no time to evenly distribute the product on my face and neck. I think this product needs to be reformulated to give it more slip for even distribution without needing more than a few drops at a time. So for sensitive, acne-prone skin types, please be aware that the additional ingredients added to help mitigate any reaction is basically useless. I’m thinking of just going with Skinceuticals because I believe they formulate it to where you can evenly distribute without needing more than 3-4 drops at a time and the patented formula is much more stable and less likely to aggravate the skin. Gave it two stars because the scent was not unpleasant and it did give a nice glow before the awful breakouts.

…but I’m sure it will do the trick, and I like that it includes ferulic acid. The smell isn’t pleasant (no orange scent other reviewers have mentioned), but that’s not a deal-breaker for me. I just use topical vitamin C serums in a hopeful way, and have faith that the antioxidant properties will do their job.

I apply this serum only in the morning, after cleansing and then applying my beloved Dr. Dennis Gross Universal Daily peel. While the serum is initially surprisingly sticky, it doesn’t stay sticky once I’ve followed with my pycnogenol serum, moisturizer and sunscreen. But the serum made my usual moisturizer super slippery, causing it to be difficult to absorb, which could be a problem during warmer weather, when the indoor temps in our Satan’s crotch of a house reach close to 100 degrees, and we start perspiring only seconds after exiting the shower. But otherwise, this vitamin C serum played nicely enough with my other skincare other products, and didn’t cause any pilling. I can’t speak to whether it improves glow or radiance, as I’ve always had naturally radiant/light-reflective skin, regardless of which products I use or don’t use. But I’ll see if there are any cumulative benefits to using this serum as opposed to other vitamin C serums I’ve used.

I’m on my 4th bottle (first one purchased thru Amazon) of Glowmaker and it’s a great value/option for Vit C. I did notice the price on Amazon is a little higher than when bought direct but nice to have the option with Prime shipping. A bottle lasts me about 3.5 months and is just starting to yellow at around 3 mos. Texture is great and has never irritated my skin. My skin def looked more clear and bright after I started using it.
I also use Maelove’s Moonlight retinol which I really like. Only negative experience with one of their products was the Night Renewer glycolic cream which broke me out on my cheeks.

Update after using for several months: I’ve had some pretty dark sun spots since last summer, so I’ve been slathering this on twice a day. The dark spots are almost gone now!

The texture is light and watery, and it’s absorbed quickly so you can apply your next layer. I usually just do a slather of this, then my SPF lotion.

Some people have mentioned they don’t like the smell, but I kinda like it. It smells a little sweet.

It stings a little going on – because it’s slightly acidic, and that helps skin absorption. I looked this up – age spots and sun damage happen at melanocytes at the base of your epidermis, so you really want this to be as deeply absorbed as possible!

Note, the active ingredients are effective for about 3 months. You can kinda tell cuz the texture changes slightly.

This vitamin c is super gentle on my sensitive skin . Super impressed on how fast my skin absorbed this serum, feels super lightweight giving me a beautiful glow for my no makeup days . Super excited to add this to my daily skincare routine .
