Sadly this product is a case of mass marketing, over promising and under delivering. I’m sure you’ve heard the ads – manscaped is One of many companies going the new route of advertising through podcasting and it is a great was to reach your audience these days. Unfortunately for me, and thousands of others who have made this purchase, the product simply does not live up to the hype. I will be much more cautious is the future before my favorite podcaster is able to influence me into buying a overpriced product when much cheaper and more reliable options are easily available and I have proven experience with them.
The good:
Design – feels like a well made product. Good features and marketing
Light – built in LED is an awesome idea, and frankly should be included on all mid/high range trimmer
Waterproof – ease of cleaning, take in shower, etc.
Feel – overall fine grip, has nice texture and the ergonomics are not terrible
The bad:
The blades – I cannot stress this enough, the most important feature on any razor or trimmer is ultimately how well it cuts your hair. If this is off no number of bells and whistles will redeem it. This trimmer uses ceramic blades boasting improved sharpness and cleanliness. While this may be true (I have not compared the teeth to a traditional metal counterpart) the blades are also offset from the their counterparts. I believe this is advertised as a ‘feature’ to reduce cuts and nicks however it is a fatal flaw of the product. This causes any hairs not perfectly aligned with the cutting area to be pulled. Sure the skin is not directly in the blade, but the endless number of hairs that are pulled and not sliced will result in more razor bumps and ingrown hairs than you’ve ever thought possible. I would rather cut myself once every ten shaves than be guaranteed ten pulled hair every shave with this product.
The blade pt. 2 – unlike most other razors, there is no way to adjust the blade (outside of included razor guard). Normal trimmers have three options, allowing far mid and close alignment of where the teeth are intersecting. A simple fix of ‘close’ likely would fix this problem, however the 2.0 somehow didn’t consider this problem. Maybe in the 3.0? Unfortunately without a ‘close, alignment the razor guard only exasperates this problem.
The light – while great in theory, the light is a single LED diode with minimal output. It has been -ok- so far, but realistically will only dim with time. It does help in dark areas like showers that don’t have direct lighting, but I was expecting and hoping for so much more
Overall – I must say I was quite excited to try this out after ordering, all of the great reviews and promised features were going to be a huge upgrade for me. For a decade+ I had been using a simple r***** trimmer that cost ~$20, lasting about 5 years each time. This easily handled any facial and under trimming needs I had, and although I had cut myself on occasion it was an easy process to learn how to navigate. I expected a product costing ~3X to deliver 3X the performance. Instead what I ended up with was a very well marketed underperforming product that fails to deliver on the most necessary of areas – how well and consistently it cuts hair. Let my purchase serve as a warning to others, sometimes the old and tried method works just fine and does not need to be improved on. Maybe 3.0 will fix these problems but until then I recommend you stay away.

I had a brief problem when I first received the product where the head had vibrated itself apart. Manscaped reached out and had a new part sent to me the next day, and since receiving the replacement I’ve had no problem.
The trimmer itself works amazingly. I’ve never had another trimmer that felt like it just glided across my skin with no feel of hair pulling. Great product, and great company with great customer support. Highly recommend.

Im so impressed with the results of this shaver! I got this for my significant other. He loves it and is safe on his skin! The battery is great. It is light weight. Very durable. It is small and easy to store. It is noisy but that’s like any other razor. I would definitely recommend this razor! Unsure if it is waterproof and I’m nervous to test it out!

I have bought and tried numerous other body Hair trimmers over the years and Manscape is the trimmer that I would highly recommend to anyone! It’s portable & water resistant so can be used in the shower. It is so easy to use. You simply charge it, turn it on and trim it! I have never gotten cut by it or pinched. I think every person should own their own personal one for grooming! I think it’s perfect for teens when they’re first learning how to shave or trim body hair because it’s so easy to use. It stays pretty clean without gathering hair in the blade and easy to clean! It’s painless very sharp, but safe! The light on it helps when shaving in the shower. It’s also a low sound if you’re trying to shave in private. They last a long time and are easy to travel with since the battery last. Just throw it in a bag for vacation or keep it on the charger at home, very versatile! Yes, I highly recommend!

Wow I have used several product like this one over the years but nothing as good as this.
The battery life is outstanding, there is ver little chance of nicking the skin if you use it correctly. Its easy to clean and the ergonomic shape is perfect to reach most places.

This was at first a 5 star review. Worked great. Held a long charge. 5 months later, it won’t charge at all. Always followed the manufacturer paperwork in regards to storage, use and charging. For no reason at all, I was mid-use and the light went off, blades kept going, then it shut off. Thought to myself it’s just dead. Tossed it on the charger, nothing.
Don’t waste your money.
Updated review. Manscape reached out and sent me a new one. Been here a week, so it’s a 4 Star review now as they honored their warranty and did right by the customer. we’ll see how long this one lasts though.
