This setting spray is super nice and makes the face matte. It holds up decent, but you need to literally drench your face. Not good for if you’re active or sweat a lot. Definitely not water or sweat resistant and kinda wore off throughout the day. Made my face super blurred and smooth though.

I’m a 60 year old with relatively neutral two tone skin who prefers a clean natural everyday makeup look. I love how this setting spray doesn’t irritate my skin, is light and flawlessly melds my products. I don’t use it as a primer. I’m definitely not willing to compromise when it comes to my base products and skin care routine because that’s what sets the stage for a smooth canvas as well as prevent my skin from absorbing makeup products. However, I do find it works best if used after applying my concealer and foundation then reapplying to set my final look. It’s definitely not a fixing spray nor is it advertised as such. You’ll need to use another product to waterproof or prevent your makeup from transferring.
That’s why I think a lot of the negative reviews are based on the consumer’s lack of knowledge of the product’s proper application and /or intended use.
I often use the original and dewy formulas depending on the need. For me, Milani setting spray does almost everything it advertises and it’s an affordable dupe for a few of the high end setting sprays. I give it 4 stars only because it’s definitely not waterproof.
