I’ve been using the MONAT IR Clinical Scalp Serum for 10 days, and I’m very satisfied with the results. It contains Melatonin, which is backed by studies for promoting hair health, and Capixyl, a peptide blend with red clover extract.
The serum is thin, absorbs quickly, and is easy to apply. After about 8 days, I noticed a significant decrease in hair shedding, which was a relief.
It’s a little bit expensive, but it’s worth the price for the noticeable improvement in my hair.

I avoided Monat for years (despite knowing multiple girls selling it who rave about their products and honestly had really great hair) because of the rumors of scalp irritation and hair loss.
I finally decided to try it for myself, thinking if one product was going to sell me on Monat it would be the IR Clincial hair growth serum. 4 days into using it once daily and my scalp hurt, I had redness, blisters, cracked skin (the most visible being on the tops of my ears from coming in contact with my head while sleeping on my side) and the itching was unbearable. I threw it out immediately, I was not going to take the chance of continuing to use it at the risk of more irritation leading to hair loss, plus I was literally in pain. Super disappointed in this product. If I could leave less than 1 star, I would.

I’m feeling hopeful about this Scalp serum. It has a good tingle when you put it on. More so than other hair serums I’ve tried actually. What I do find daunting about this is the listing price. When I ordered it, it was listed near $84. For serums purported to stimulate hair growth, that is about the going rate, and like those as well, what you need to realize is that this is a very small bottle of product. This says though, to use 2-3 droppers full per use and rub it through your hair. Well, if you use 3 dropperfuls per day, this is not going to last you very long at all! I would say- forget that, use just a few drops, and rub vigorously through the spots that most need it. It does feel promising, but I’ve yet to find a hair serum for thinning hair that actually delivers results. If this one does, you can be sure I will come back and update this review, because thinning hair and balding is such a personal issue for so many of us, myself included, and it is so rare to find anything with good results for that issue.
