I love this stuff. Way less split ends. So glad I switched to Moroccan Oil products. My hair is smoother, softer, moisturizing my hair, all the products smell good and perform to the degree they say. It was worth the price for me to switch.

Great smoothing of fly aways, split ends and new growth on dry hair.

I dropped a little over $100 on Moroccanoil products recently: Smooth shampoo and conditioner, leave-in conditioner, and mending infusion. Here’s my honest feedback.

The scent: I remember loving the smell of Moroccanoil when I worked in a salon about 12 years ago. I’m not sure if my olfactory nerves have changed or if their formula has changed—but wow. To sum it up, it’s “too much of a good thing” in my opinion. But I do generally wear minimal fragrance so I’m not used to smelling strong scents on myself all day. And it lasts all day. Even the palms of my hands are now fragranced and I have to double wash them after doing my hair.

Shampoo & Conditioner: it’s not terrible. I feel like it’s a fair price point. I have to use more shampoo than expected to feel like I’m really washing my hair, but that could be how the “smooth” line feels. I was using olaplex before this. I liked that but wasn’t impressed compared to all the hype it garners. I actually thought the shampoo stripped my hair too much, and the conditioner is super thick, but I did enjoy the nice but subtle smell of Olaplex in general. I don’t think I will buy either brand of Shampoo/Conditioner for a second time. If the fragrance wasn’t so POW! with Moroccanoil, I would purchase their duo again.

Leave-in Conditioner/heat protectant: I like to use a product on my damp hair before I style it to lock in moisture since I have porous hair from lifting/color treating. I really love Olaplex on this front. I also really like how soft Moroccanoil leave-in conditioner makes my hair feel. I typically add a little more something to my hair after dried but only because it’s lacking in natural oils. I likely will not purchase again because of the super strong smell.

The mending infusion: this is my least favorite product because it seems to do the exact same thing as the leave in conditioner and (in my opinion) it is the strongest smelling of the products I purchased. If that’s possible. Again, I like the way Moroccanoil smells, but I suspect they’re doing something different with their fragrance ratios. It also doesn’t feel heavy enough to actually weigh down flyaways or seal split ends. It lasts for a minute then kinda dries and looks like nothing has been applied, meaning split ends fray up and flyaways fly.

Just my experience with my hair and my nose:)
