The bottle of actual product is surrounded by a huge clear plastic bottle. It’s only use it to make it seem like you’re receiving more product than you truly are. For the price it is not worth it. My bottle got jammed after 3 uses. For the price, you should receive more product or better design for the pump. I won’t be buying this again

After my wife tried a new skin care product that caused her to experience a good amount of dry skin on her face that even moisturizer wasn’t fully helping to hydrate alone, we decided to give this product a try in addition to her new gentle skincare routine, and so far so good. After just a few days of use as part of a basic skincare routine including step 1: a gentle cleanser, step 2: this product (Murad Cellular Hydration Barrier Repair Serum) , and step 3: a lightweight moisturizer, we noticed her dry patches are gone and her face looks nicely hydrated again. She has fairly sensitive skin, but experienced no skin redness or irritation which is great as well. The scent isn’t the most ideal, but it’s light so it’s doable. The serum is a lightweight gel like texture that’s light brown colored, but doesn’t leave any residue on your face to be concerned about. We’re happy with this product so far.

This is an excellent serum that seems as if it was made for those with my exact skin type. I have very dry, sensitive skin that gets rough, reddened and dehydrated very easily. I also have a lot of skin damage from too much exposure to the sun over many years. I try a lot of skin care products as I am always looking for something that is hydrating but will also help replenish the lipids my skin need. Most products do one or the other well, but many of them are just too rich for me and end up causing irritation. Sigh.
This serum is perfect for me. It is light-weight but not too thin or watery. It has a light, somewhat earthy scent that isn’t quite what I expected, but it doesn’t linger for oolong and it doesn’t really bother me. The serum is a translucent white(ish) color that goes on smoothly and sinks into my skin right away. It feels nice on my skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth It doesn’t feel oily or sticky and there is no irritation. It penetrates deep into my skin and helps it hold onto moisture and it works very well with my regular moisturizing cream. Plus, the soothing effects last all day.
As another reviewer mentioned the ingredients shown in the product description do not match those listed on the actual product or packaging. Perhaps the ingredients in the description are for an entirely different product, or maybe the serum I received is a newer formulation and the information just hasn’t been updated yet. Either way, I do think this is an issue that should be addressed promptly.

Here is the ingredient list for this product from the Murad website (as of the date of this review):
Water/Aqua/Eau, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Vaccinium Myrtillus Seed Oil, C14-22 Alcohols, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Lactobacillus Ferment, Salix Alba (Willow) Extract, Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Hexapeptide-9, Urea, Yeast Amino Acids, Trehalose, Inositol, Taurine, Betaine, Hydroxyacetophenone, Tocopherol, Oleyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Pullulan, C12-20 Alkyl Glucoside, Sclerotium Gum, Lysolecithin, Xanthan Gum, Silica, Glucose, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Sodium Hydroxide, Chlorphenesin, Limonene, Linalool, Fragrance (Parfum)

This serum does not have the shea butter shown in the ingredient list provided in the description, which is a good thing for me, as it is often irritating to my skin. It does have the bilberry seed oil and hexapeptide-9 highlighted in the description which are not in the provided ingredient list. It also has added fragrance. So, aside from the mention of of this being an unscented product, the text part of the description appears to be correct and just the ingredients are in error.
This a rather pricey serum, but I like this brand. I only need a small amount of serum and I am finding it to be very effective on my skin and it also fits in nicely with my everyday routine. The serum arrived boxed but was not properly sealed, which I found surprising for this brand, especially at this price. I would have given this serum five stars if the information provided had been correct and the product sealed.

I’ve had a good experience with this product since I’ve been using it. I have sensitive skin and redness throughout my face that comes and goes. Along with my sensitive skin it is also dry a lot of the time even though I hydrate daily. This product does great at giving my skin the moisture it needs without overdoing it. It’s super easy to apply and use.

After using this product for some time I did actually start to see a difference in the way my skin looks. It hasn’t been drastic or anything but it’s been enough that I have been able to notice it. My skin feels less dry than it used to be especially in the mornings. The redness has calmed down quite a bit and I don’t notice as much redness compared to before I started using this product.

With my sensitive skin I can’t stand a lot of scents in products and unfortunately this is one of those. I’m not sure what I’m actually smelling but sometimes I find it quite irritating to my sinuses. But what’s really irritating to me is that their listing states this product is unscented. There is a scent of some kind there and it doesn’t agree with me most of the times.

In ways I like this product because of how it’s worked making my face less red and more hydrated but the scent is one of the biggest factors in me continuing to use it. Another contributing factor and probably the biggest is the price – it’s expensive and for not much product. Overall, in my opinion, I don’t believe this product is a good value for the money. If this product could last me 6 months or so then maybe but I don’t see myself purchasing this on a constant basis.

My skin absolutely loves this stuff. My preferred way to use if after my morning shower, before moisturizer. I wear makeup daily, and also dermaplane, and sometimes my skin feels a bit aggravated. This has helped keep it in a calm state, and keeps my barrier feeling protected and hydrated. Sometimes the pump gets stopped up with a solid plug of the product, but I just scoop that out before rubbing it into my face. Seems like this bottle is goin to last me a decent amount of time too, I think the value makes it worth it. Quite pleased with this stuff.

  6. Life with Dogs 🐾

I have been using this for a few months now, and I feel my under eye area has improved some during this time.

I have fine lines under my eyes, and light crows feet when I smile, and after using this product, those areas seem more plump and moisturized than they do with just my regular skin care products.

I use this in the morning before applying my daily moisturizer, and then again before my nighttime face cream. It dries quickly, and the scent, while it’s not the best, is not very noticeable, and is completely gone in a few minutes.
