So the review is based on the actual product but I can not fail to mention how large the bottle is for this cream. It’s HUGE in size so if you have a small countertop just be aware that this takes up a lot of room. While the bottle is huge only the center carries product so it’s a lot of dead space. Now let’s talk about price, this cream is not what one would consider affordable at first glance, but do I think its worth the price? Yes, I do. That is for two reasons, product performance is noticeable immediately, and second, you do get two ounces of product so breaking down the price per ounce is very affordable. I’m like right in the middle of mature/young skin but right now it’s summer where I live and it for sure has helped with hydration.

I’ve been using Nature Republic Ginseng Gold Silk Watery Cream for a while now and I’m thoroughly impressed with it! I have mature skin that needs an intense moisturizer to overcome the dryness, and this works for me like a mini face lift in a jar. This elegantly presented amber colored gel has little flecks of gold in it and it has a very subtle pleasant scent. I’ve been using it in the evening before bed and it feels moisturizing right away. Even better, my face still feels well hydrated the next morning and it looks plumper too which diminishes the appearance of the fine lines around my mouth and eyes. The gel liquifies as soon as I apply it to my skin, so it only takes a little to get good coverage. It absorbs fairly quickly as I pat it in, and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily or greasy. Seriously – a little goes a long way and yields fabulous results for my dry skin. If you apply it too generously though it will take longer to absorb and feel sticky for a while so don’t go overboard. I’m amazed by how long it keeps my skin feeling hydrated and looking plumper. This is lightweight enough for all skin types (including oily skin), non-irritating, and non-oily. I plan to continue using this myself and recommend it to friends too!

This cream is lightweight and smooth on my skin, but it has a very strong and chemically sweet scent that I don’t like having on my face. The smell is stronger than most of the fragrances that I wear, and it’s not a scent that I find pleasant at all. The scent is like cheap perfume and hairspray to me, and I cannot get over the smell enough in order to use this cream more than once.
The container for this cream is colossal for the amount of product. The jar is a huge cube of nearly solid plastic with a small well for the cream. Given my limited counter space I am not a fan of this jar, but I must admit that it is striking and pretty, and the lid is very easy to open.
I don’t like using products with this much dimethicone listed in the ingredients- my skin doesn’t like silicone products and it will often break out when I use them. Had there been an ingredients list available on the listing to read before choosing I would have passed on this cream, so here it is for those who want and/or need to read ingredients before choosing their skin care items:

I have been using this for a few weeks, and I don’t have any complaints except for the value. It is outside of my normal budget, and it wasn’t so amazing that it is going to be a repeat for me.
Does my skin look and feel better? Yes. It’s hydrated and softer. But lots of creams do that for me, so it isn’t special enough for me to keep on repeat, not a holy grail.
I do like the watery texture. The fragrance is pleasant, but it definitely has added fragrance.

So far I have loved this product, but over half of it is just packaging. The actual gel part is quite small. While I enjoy having the gold in it, and this is the first moisturizer I have ever seen actually feel still silky in the morning, it’s quite an expensive product. It also has that cheap/generic fragrance added to it which I do not like. It’s harsh and too much.
While I like aspects of it and dislike the others, I can’t justify it’s price point. Even with added incentives to it like the gold, a big jump in price compared to your standard Cetaphil or Cerave is not worth it in my opinion. It was a fun try, and I will use it until I run out, but will not be purchasing again. I’d give it 3.5 stars but rounding up to 4.

I am frankly impressed by this product. I have used Nature Republic’s aloe vera product for years s as of trusted the brand to have good stuff. But this one overdelivered. It’s so fancy! The packaging is gorgeous. It comes with a cute spoon for fetching the cream. The cream volume is generous as well.
The cream itself is very nurturing, moisturizing, and has a delightful scent. The gold pieces in it feel fancy as well. My skin felt great after using it as well.
