I’ve had the Nioxin Ultimate Power Serum for two weeks. The first time I sprayed it on my scalp, I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the smell. Trust me, you do get used to it. It isn’t a terrible smell, even for someone sensitive to fragrances. It’s almost comforting now in my bedtime routine!
So far I have noticed a decrease in hair shed. Before Nioxin, I think I had somewhere between 50-60 hairs lost each day. Now it’s more like 20-30. Which is crazy for only using this product a couple weeks. I will say, I am fortunate not to have true “hair loss,” I am mainly using this as a preventative measure throughout my mid-thirties. I have fine, thin naturally blonde hair that has seemed to be getting a little thinner over the years. I am hoping to prevent some hair loss and thicken my incoming strands.

I have been using this product consistently now for about 3 months, and I have to say I absolutely love it. My hair is definitely thicker and stronger than it was before. I am also very surprised at the people who are going on about the smell. It does have a scent, but it’s a very clean & minty scent that I actually really like, and have received compliments on- so it’s funny to me to see people saying the smell is horrible. I completely disagree. I will also say that I do not use this product alone. I use the Nioxin Night Density Rescue Serum, the Nioxin System 2 shampoo/conditioner kit, and I also take prescription Finasteride and Minoxidil. I have found that the best way to get amazing results is to do multiple things simultaneously that are proven to get results. Sure, I’m not exactly sure which of them is doing the most help, but I think together they all do the best job. Way to go, Nioxin!

I’ve been using this since I noticed some excess shedding. The formula is light and does not leave much of a residue behind. I use it daily and have notice less shedding when I shower. I’m gonna keep on using it.

I have struggled for the last 2 or 3 years with my hair falling out and generally not healthy, stopped coloring it, bought all kinds of products with zero difference. I used the nioxin shampoo conditioner and scalp treatment one time along with this product and there is a noticeable difference in my hair. It’s not oily. It’s not coarse. It’s not falling out when I brush it. I’m not crazy about the smell, but it fades.

I just can’t stand the smell and anybody who is around me can’t stand it either I notice. They would ask what soap or shampoo I was using? I would ask why? They wanted to know so they could avoid buying it! I use this about 10 years ago maybe less and it had no smell and it really worked. My hair came back straighter and thicker. I didn’t even have to blow dry it. I would just shake my head and it gave me the best beach wave I’ve ever had without any work. if I got caught in the rain, it was fine absolutely no frizz after. I couldn’t believe it. I was so happy but I stopped using it because it was quite expensive at the time. It seems so different now. It’s too bad.

After reading other reviews I bought this anyway, expecting it to smell like rotten eggs. Or even farts. And I was willing to walk around with a sulphury fart head, knowing that nioxin works and it would be worth it. What I didn’t expect however was the product smelling like my noseblind grandpa who just rolled in cologne samples at a drug store and then danced through a cloud of baby powder on his way out the door. Instant asthma attack from a SINGLE pump, and the instructions say to use up to 15 (!!!) pumps. I’m so disappointed. I can’t use this and it’s not returnable. $50 literally down the drain. Oh, and the smell doesn’t come off after showering. It’s going to be a long night.
