I love the smell of wood . The horn part makes hair soft and smoothly. Due to some reviews, the comb should be taken good care. But it is worth to have it .

this is a great comb, feels good running through hair. it has a weird smell when you first open it, i imagine because it is a buffalo horn. the smell goes away. overall i recommend this over plastic any day. don’t run plastic through your hair.

GF wanted a big comb and complained about not finding one. I decided to search myself and this one popped up with the horn teeth. She liked how smooth it is against her hair. She did say she wished the teeth were a bit longer but it worked well. Nice!

I like this set, enough that I have purchased 3 sets for various purposes and places! I have shorter medium hair and use a blower dryer with them. Each set had a oder from very slight to somewhat noticeable. The first set did have a strong “smell” some folks mention, however that is easily washed out with dawn and shampoo. It is the horn that smells. I have not had any of the horn teeth break (and feels good on my scalp) or have I noticed any cracking of the wood handles. I did observe one of the handles began to appear to dry out some. I used sesame oil and rubbed that into all of the wooden parts of the combs. That did the trick! I let it soak over night and wiped the excess off and have had zero issues. Note this will darken the color of the wood. The wood grain and colors are nice, one set was a blonde color! Very cool! They have been sturdy and have done a good job! I am very pleased with them.
