I first purchased this whitening gel from my dentist. It works amazing but recommend bleaching trays. I use my Invisalign trays. You just open the syringe by twisting the cap/lid off and applying the bleaching gel directly onto the front parts of your trays. I rub it around with the tip of the syringe, a little goes a long way. If you use too much, the gel will gush out when putting in your trays. if the gel gets on your gums wipe it off! it will cause gum sensitivity. I set a timer for 30 minutes and repeat every couple days (unless teeth are sensitive) until reaching the desired brightness of white. It only takes freshening up twice a year for me. And I drink coffee and tea daily. I’m sure everyone is different. But I always get compliments on how white my teeth are…even if I haven’t bleached for a year haha Needless to say this stuff works amazing! You can always use a cheap football mouth guard and form it to your teeth for your “trays”. Just bulky but way cheaper

I used Opalescence to whiten my teeth. I wasn’t disappointed. It worked great. I will be ordering it again. The only thing I found negative about it was it had to stay on up to four hours. Trying to find that time was hard.

The star rating is only for the “real” Opalescence, which is “great” as long as you don’t get EXPIRED or FAKE PRODUCT. I ordered the 2 pack of Opalescence 20% in May 2016, and after 2 attempts to whiten with the product, became suspicious when it did not work. Contacted Ultradent directly and was advised that they receive a number of complaints about expired product sold online. I then purchased the product from my dentist to compare, and sure enough the dentist product has a visable, stamped expiration, whereas the one purchased online does not (nor does it whiten).
I have attached photos to help readers see the difference. Upon first inspection, it’s difficult to tell the difference, but the expired or knockoff has a hidden number – it appears in the photo as Q049. When contacting Ultradent, I was advised that the “049” was indicative of an older product that expired in April of 2009 or was possibly even a knockoff. BUT, the product from the dentist has a identifiable expiration of 02-2018. If you choose to bypass your dentist and purchase this product online because it is cheaper, please watch out for unscrupulous sellers and look for the expiration date! This is a classic example of Caveat Emptor . . .
