I am ordering my third bottle of this product – I love it. I have thin, short, curly hair and it gives me some body to work with. It’s not heavy or greasy or crunchy. Others have talked about the great smell. However, I can’t smell much which, for me, is even better. It may be pricey but I’ve sure spent a wad of money on products that did not work so I figure I’m saving money. A little bit does go a long way.

Hard to say. I expected more but it doesn’t work for me. That is by no means saying it won’t for you. ORIBE makes quality products but this was not for me. Please don’t let my review dissuade you at all. Pricey yes, it’s ORIBE, high quality stuff.

I love this product! My hair stylist used it in my really thick hair and it just made it look like a blow out you get from the salon!!

I have very curly hair, and using this lotion to tie my hair in a pony tail to air dry, gives me straight hair with zero heat. My hair is also very fine, and this product does not leave it greasy, sticky, or stiff. It’s my favorite beauty hack.

  5. Mila

Doesn’t work at all on my wavy hair. Waste of money. So disappointing because i love the texturizing spray.

I love love love Oribe hair products. They all smell amazing and the smell alone keeps me coming back. This product is perfect for naturally wavy hair. I use this whole my hair is still wet and my waves and perfect and never frizzy. A small amount goes a long way with this product. A bottle lasts me at least 6 months and is small enough to fly with! Score!

I have bought so many ORIBE products and though they are pricey they do exactly what they say they will do & leave your hair smelling fabulous. They make a traditional salt spray like every one else and I bought that too, it works and is less drying than a host of ORIBE’s competitors. I have really dry hair that is very thick & at the same time very fine. Length is just past my collarbone and it has a very little amount of natural body – like if I just airdry it w/no help I have flat & wavy areas that just look odd. So I start with a nickel size amount of the ORIBE Superlight leave in Conditioner and comb that through all the way around. Then I use clips and clip my hair in about 6 sections & then work/scrunch a pump or two into each section just to ensure I evenly coat all of my hair (because of my half flat/half wavy issue). Then if I have time, I let it airdry but constantly scrunching all over until dry and that looks awesome. If I have to get ready quickly then I put the diffuser on my T3 blow dryer and scrunch and almost completely dry each section and that too turns out beautiful and like all ORIBE products smells amazing.

Only curly hair product that works on me, non sticky

I’m an Oribe stan (so maybe I’m biased) but this is fantastic.
I’ve been using Oribe since 2011 and the products changed my hair. I have thin, fine, wavy hair but my hair is now the healthiest it’s ever been. I use the shampoo/conditioner (alchemy), the leave in conditioner, this, and super shine light moisturizing cream almost every night. It doesn’t weigh down my hair or make it greasy, and makes my curls/waves soft. My hair is stronger, silkier, and holds a curl all day. I don’t use heat on my hair (soft flat heatless curler) and this balm lends itself to that. In the morning, I style with dry texturizing spray. Everything they make it 10000% worth every cent. It performs unlike anything out there.

Everyone says it, but Oribe is the best smelling product out there. It’s not floral or headache inducing. I’ve wanted to like other products but haven’t been able to use bc the smell is so intense and overwhelming and I can’t stand things that smell like cheap drugstore perfume (or really any perfume). This smells amazing and I’ve never found anything that comes remotely close. Funnily enough, I always get compliments on my “perfume”.

Let me just say the price is steep but it works really well! I was first introduced to this Oribe product through Ipsy and used it sparingly for about a year or so. I finally gave up and decided to buy the full bottle when I eked out the last of my sample. Now, I use it every time I get out of the shower and get the same amazing results. Works extremely well on my 2b/2c thick and wavy hair. I step out of the shower, immediately add leave-in conditioner, and then apply Oribe Matte Texture Lotion about three inches from the roots, all the way to the ends. I do about two quarter sizes worth of product because I have long hair. I then use a microfiber towel to scrunch the excess water and then I LEAVE MY HAIR ALONE. When you have wavy hair, it’s best to add your hair products after you shower, scrunch or diffuse, and then don’t touch your hair so your hair can go to its natural wave pattern. I have been on a journey to embrace my natural waves (in all its frizzy glory) and this product has worked well in achieving natural waves, even if it’s super expensive. I think of it as an investment in my hair.
