This my first time trying anything from Oribe. For context, I have 2C texture and my hair is relaxed. As I relax every 16 weeks it is vital that I have a product that can detangle my hair without breaking it (relaxing can stripe your hair of moisture) and maintain the health of my hair from harsh chemical use. The mist sprays fine and evenly all over. I have not experienced any clogging. I am able to immediately comb through any tangles and snarls. My on caveat and the reason for four stars not five, is the smell. I noticed a subtle eggy odor from the product while spraying. It isn’t entirely unpleasant as it disperses quickly however once I dry and curl my hair, the smell returns. It’s almost as if someone put perfumed eggs in my hair. It is the only way I can describe it. Luckily Moroccan hair oil does help to mask that smell. I don’t know if anyone else has experienced this smell, but it isn’t enough that would stop me from using the product or returning it, but I might decide not to repurchase.

As a lover of Oribe shampoo I had to try this detangler. I have hair extensions in and very thin hair. This is lightweight and doesn’t leave my hair dry. Definitely worth paying the extra price!

I have thin, oily hair with a beautiful weave tied in. Since the weave hair is thick and dry, I do a top wash of my natural hair only every three days and wash all the hair once a week (I separate the hair on my head with the weave in a pony tail to do this). . Anyway, for the top wash which I do in the sink, I only use a shampoo for oily hair and no conditioner. After I towel dry my hair, I use a little bit of this for the tangles. A little goes a long way so this really lasts for me. It has a light scent and doesn’t weight my hair down or make more greasy.

I am a man with wavy long white/silver hair ( to the middle of my back) that has become finer and more delicate as I have aged. I am outdoors a lot and I am not always as careful with my hair as I could be. I had been using an detangler that worked pretty well and that I was happy with, but I decided spend the extra cash and try this product. I have found that it works even better than I expected. In the shower I use a light conditioner followed by shampoo. I do this because I do want some conditioning in the shower, but I don’t want my hair weighed down. After gently towel drying my hair I spray Oribe into my hair. It is a very fine spray and the scent is fine. After spraying, my hair is easy to comb out with very little hair loss. After my hair dries, during the day it tangles much less than it did before. I wash my hair every other day, and even on the day I don’t use the product my hair still looks good. I will buy it again.

After all the great reviews, I had to try this. I was terribly disappointed. First, for the packaging, mine came a tad damp and the box was ripped. It also arrived with the lid off the bottle which led me to believe it had a wild ride to me. As for the product itself, the smell is nice for a manly scent, sort of like MUSK. It’s not feminine at all and like most hair products, it’s what I expected. This in my opinion is not great on hair. I have very long and textured hair, this did not work on damp hair. It never detangled even after following the rather minimal directions. It was not hydrating, in fact it actually caused my hair to dry much faster. Once dried, it left a tacky feeling in my hair that I had to re-wet with a spray bottle to get rid of that feeling. Also at no point did I get the soft, silky or shiny hair that I read so much about. Highly disappointed.

I’ve been on a years-long search to find the right combination for my daughters 4c kinky hair. She is very tender-headed, so a good detangler is a must. I stumbled upon Oribe and it actually works really well so it made since to add it to our wash day arsenal. However, the price is steep for the amount and understandably gives some people pause. Is it a good product? Yes. Is it worth the price? Each person has to determine their own price elasticity. If it helps, it retails $10 cheaper at W*LM**T. I give it 4 stars only because of the price for volume. It feels expensive for what it is, so it’s not a no-brainer purchase decision.

This is just an incredible product. I have very dry fine hair that is a virtual rat’s nest after shampooing and wrapping in a towel. I get tired of standing in the shower, impatiently trying to comb through my hair with a wide toothed comb and conditioner to the point where I am constantly fighting the urge to cut it all off into an ultra short pixie (my husband and son would not approve 🙁 Today I misted this on my freshly washed hair (did not use conditioner) and my comb moved through my hair like a warm knife through butter. Just fantastic… I am in love! Pricey, but worth every penny. Now I can rid myself of the dozen bottles of detangler that haven’t worked. Thank you Oribe!

So I really wanted to like this product, but it was just super unimpressive.
It leaves a residue on hair after 3 sprays *and it’s not like the spray even comes out that much), and for the price, I would rather have gone to a drug store and bought a Schwartzkof detangler brand instead that works wonders.
