It smells nice, and it’s not overpowering with glitter like other reviews say.. in my opinion. It just perfect!

This stuff is straight up GLITTER. Not a mica-based shimmer or bronzy glow. Very “body gel from the 90s” glitter.
Smell is ok. Can’t speak on the moisturizing qualities because I wiped it off immediately. Which it doesn’t wash off easily. I scrubbed my hands twice with soap and I still see flecks on my palms.
Maybe I’ll mix it with regular moisturizer and just use it on my legs next time….

When I Found this I was very happy because I remembered how it used to feel look and smell and I was very excited to have that experience again . Let me say it is nothing like it used to be at all the thickness, the shimmer, and that smell oh my God! Not again till they change the formula.

I initially ordered this Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Shimmer Body Lotion for myself, recognizing Palmers as a reputable brand I’ve used before. I had thought it was more of a lotion that would add a tiny bit of “glow” or radiance, but I’m glad I read the reviews before slathering it on my 50-something skin for a trip to the grocery store. Instead, forewarned, I passed the lotion on to my 20-something fashionable daughter, who also reported that it was “very shimmery” and more appropriate for a more youthful person’s night out than running errands.
In addition, she said it smelled nice, and washed off easily later, but did not spread too easily on dry skin. She suggested it might be applied better on damp skin immediately after a shower. And, she was happy to keep the rest of the tube for herself.
I did deduct one star because I feel like the product description didn’t really match the product itself; it was touted as a way to firm and minimize the appearance of loose skin and cellulite and add radiance, but it seems like the amount of “shimmer” might give that cellulite a little more party vibe than someone looking to downplay aging skin really bargained for.

It works perfectly for the shimmer but the cocoa butter smell is intense and a bit off-putting for me.

A little goes a LONG way… literally a pea sized amount is a little too much for my whole upper half of my body!
If I mix a VERY small amount with regular unscented lotion then it’s more the look I was going for… otherwise it’s literally a glitter bomb on my body (which would be cute for going out but not really an everyday glowy skin look like I was going for)
Also, like someone else mentioned, it smells like baby powder… I don’t mind the smell, but it’s definitely 100% baby powdered scented.
I can see them tweaking this a little to make it better. It has potential, just a little too much right now.
