I like this brand a lot – very well respected in the skincare community. this sunscreen is an opaque white but absorbed to be clear. was a bit tacky. not my favorite, but was close! i like silicone texture which i know some people don’t like, which is the only reason why this isn’t one of my top faves. but for a mineral sunscreen this is really impressive. they’re never going to be as cosmetically elegant as chemical sun screens but my brother in law is allergic to many many chemicals so we usually just have physical sunscreens around the house.

I applied Paula’s Choice Barrier Protect Mineral Sunscreen to my face and a few hours later had a bad allergic reaction. My face turned bright, blotchy red. My skin stung and felt hot, hot, hot to the touch. It was like a really bad sunburn. It was especially bad around my eyes. I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my apartment for 7 days. It took that long for the stinging and redness to subside. It was not pretty. I strongly encourage new users to test the product somewhere like the inside of your forearm before applying anywhere else. I don’t know which of the many ingredients was the culprit for me, but I sure hope no one else has to deal with this happening to them.

I love the larger size and the calming barrier this provides to my skin. We all need sunscreen and some mostiure… this does it all in one!

Seems expensive but this really works to calm redness in my cheeks. It feels more like nice face lotion than sunscreen and a little goes a long way. Heard great things about this brand and they seem to be true.
