I was really intrigued when I came across this product because why wouldn’t I want to protect my skin? I like the bottle it comes in and it’s great that I can reuse it. The spray smells clean, isn’t overpowering and immediately reminded me of B&BW cucumber melon. You do need to be careful when you use it. If you’re too close to your face or spray too much, your skin will end up sticky. I didn’t find this to be super hydrating but it didn’t dry out my skin either. You can use this on bare skin AFTER your skincare routine. If you use it first and cover it up with moisturizer etc then you’re blocking its ability to do whatever it does. It’s meant to be used as a refresher throughout the day. Now here’s where the thinking comes in. After trying it out for a week or so, during which I didn’t notice anything particularly awesome that made me want to keep using it, I started to wonder. So I researched. What I found is that I don’t need this at all because my regular skincare routine already protects me quite well, if not better. I use a vitamin C serum, an antioxidant that stops the free radicals from blue lights, and a good sunscreen, which blocks UV rays. I generally use a water mist throughout the day that helps keep my slightly dry skin from getting drier and refreshed my makeup well. I just don’t really see the point in adding an unnecessary $49 product to my routine that does nothing more than remind me of a once beloved fragrance I used in high school.

In the world of facial and skin care products, I have a hard time finding any justification for using this particularly at a price point of $25 per ounce. When using this, I’d typically use a facial cleanser or scrub, then a face cream and then spray this on top of it. Sometimes there would be a “polisher” in there too. Whether I used this or not really didn’t seem to make any difference in how my skin felt or looked. It didn’t make my skin feel weighted down or like there was too much stuff on it but it didn’t really seem to do anything positive that was noticeable.

I can’t really say that this is a good or bad product. What I can say is that to me it seems like an additional product that is unnecessary in the daily routine and $49.00 that would be much better spent on something else. I certainly wouldn’t buy it but for those who feel that this or something like it is an important part of a daily skin care routine, it may be worth purchasing. It gets 3 stars not because it is a good or bad product but because I can’t judge one way or the other but do think it is not needed.

So much to love about this facial spray.
I like that it’s effective even in the middle of the day on top of your makeup or other skin care products. And the fragrance is so uplifting! It’s a lovely cucumber that smells totally fresh. Not artificial. Especially with dry indoor air, or any low humidity environment, this is so soothing and hydrating.
Perfect for any gender, the packaging isn’t targeting any specific demographic. A wonderful product for skin, no matter who you are.
The smaller size means it can go with you anywhere. No issues with the nozzle clogging.

Not my first defense mist for blue light and free radical protection, nor my last. I had pretty much just finished off a spray by Tula that I used for the same purpose of this- combo of hydration and blue light protection. A little more in it for a little less, but all of them seem to be in the $30-50 range, so go with what sounds good to you. I tend to wear sunscreen everyday, usually mineral (which can help with protection from blue light exposure) so I think I’m already ahead of the game. These sprays are fairly new and not enough info out on them yet, so I proceed with skepticism. Even so, I rate what I have tried rather highly. I am ultimately rating on the quality, feel, and effectiveness of hydration. Not sure how to review for effectiveness of blue light blocking. I suppose no increase in hyperpigmentation? But again.. I do use sunscreen no matter the weather or where I am at.

Ok so, I like the feel and smell of this PCA daily defense mist. Really no idea how well it works in terms of blue light protection. I just look at the ingredients and go from there. I love hydrating mists and I can comment on that at least. It feels GOOD when I spray it on my face. I spray through the day. I rarely wear make up, so I do not know how it does with that. From prior experience with spray post make up application, the make up is always fine. If you like the PCA line and want to try this out, I think you will like it. It’s a small 2 ounce bottle. You decide if that works for you.

Small, clean looking, reusable bottle. Best By date of 12/22 stamped on bottom (I acquired this 2/2021).

I keep this at my desk and just spray away whenever I feel like it. The spray produces a large droplet feel- wet and refreshing. I have some that are a super fine mist, which is preferable especially if make up is involved. But this has been just fine for me. I like the slightly dewy look I have immediately afterward. The smell is delicious- a faint cucumber aroma. Almost like a cucumber melon smell (although not at all the same, it vague reminds me of PMitchell awapuhi spray circa 1995).

    It’s very nice

I can’t stand putting sunscreen on my face but know that it’s kind of a must at my age. I’m trying to soften wrinkles, lighten freckles, and basically turn back time now that I’m fifty years old. What I like about this PCA Daily Defense Mist is how, with a couple of spritzes, I can cover my face with a 50+ sunscreen without the tacky, weird-smelling, pore-blocking gunk of an actual sunscreen. I don’t wear makeup very often either, and when I do, I don’t slather a heavy foundation on my face, which seem to all contain sunscreen now. So this skin-pampering mist works for me. It goes on light and refreshing with an herbal scent that I don’t really care for, but the fragrance goes away quickly. The mist dries without leaving my skin feeling sticky. I can layer other skin care products underneath or on top it, as well. Overall, I’m happy with this refreshing face mist.
