I like the hold and shine. Minus 1 star bc I’m not sure if i got a bad one but the texture is difficult to work with. It was a little dry and hard to emulsify in my hand.

Great product – looks great in hair

This is the perfect hair product for all day hold and a natural look. It doesn’t weigh your hair down and has a manly scent!

  4. D

Does exactly as it should! Has a great smell, leaves a nice texture with more of a light/medium hold (in my opinion). Zero complaints & would by again.

Should note, this works great in my hair, which is thinner than it use to be & the length is about 2 2-1/2 inch’s.

    Good product

Before this stuff, I was using Paul Mitchell re-Works, which is a texture cream, in my fine, straight hair. A 5oz tube of that stuff would typically last me the better part of 7-8 months. However, the hold with it wasn’t great with just a little bit, so my hair ended up feeling sticky and cakey for the amount I needed to use (not a lot). And if my hair was longer than an inch or so, forget it, as it would do nothing but gunk up my head. I would be able to restyle during the day, but it would look worse with a lot of tweaking. I’ve used a wax stick (Tigi Bed Head and Loreal) in the past too (would rub it into hands and work through hair), and that stuff worked but felt awful in my hair and took 3 shampoos to completely get out.

Turn to this putty, after stumbling on Aaron’s videos. Been using it for about a week now, and it works. Does it work really well? Eh. It does the job for the most part. Following Aaron’s guide (style, apply wet, blow dry, apply a bit more to dry hair) it makes my hair look more ‘fluffy’ than anything. It also makes my hair feel a bit dried out, and that’s even after using conditioner. Granted I’m growing my hair out currently, so it’s in a bit of a mid-phase, but I expected better results. It is a bit more ‘natural’ feeling than other products, but still leaves the hair with a bit of a sticky residue.

The scent is mild and pretty neutral. Think floral citrus with a hint of spice. Once its in your hair, you won’t be reminded of the product via its scent, and no one else will smell it unless they are checking you for lice.

Where this product completely falters is the price. At $19+shipping for 2oz of product, there is no way this is a good value. Based on my 1 week use, the jar will last maybe 3 months? It just doesn’t work well enough (or much different than cheaper products) to justify the cost. Almost $10/oz is more expensive than almost any ‘salon quality’ product on the market. Drop the price down to the $14 range and I’d consider it a decent value. But at $19, there’s no way I’m dipping back into this bucket. Will shoot for one of the much cheaper options on the market.

Works well the only reason it’s not perfect for me is because I like to mess with my hair all day long and it doesn’t feel as nice with product in it. But you get exactly what you would expect and it’s great quality. Also make sure when you use this product that your hands are dry when you rub it into your hands. Just makes it easy to apply your hair can be wet that’s how I did mine.

I’m really conflicted on this product, so let’s start from the beginning…

The gentlemen who owns this company is a famous youtuber who I enjoy watching and am subscribed to. After watching several videos espousing the quality of this product and seeing so many positive reviews, I decided to take a gamble and give the product a try.

Typically I use hair products that you might find in your neighborhood grocery store, so I was excited to try a high end salon quality hair product which certainly comes with a high end salon price.

I received the product and immediately washed my hair and opened the package to give my new product a try, only to find that the product was hard as a rock. I live in Ohio, so I assumed the firmness was just due to the package being outside in the 60 degree weather and brushed it off.

The following morning I went to style my hair and AGAIN, even after sitting in my warm home for the evening the putty was as hard as a rock. I literally have to scrape it out of the tub with my finger nails, and eventually I resorted to keeping a spoon in my cabinet for the sole purpose of scraping the putty out of the container.

The product smells nice and works well, but it is an absolute nightmare to get out of the tub and takes forever to emulsify in my hands. For $25 (incl shipping) I have pretty high expectations considering old spice putty for $6 a tub can get it correct.

This experienced has soured me on the rest of his products lines because I simply can’t trust the quality control that he has in place.

I would not purchase it again, and I would not recommend it to a friend.
