Have been using this for years and never looked back. You scalp will feel amazing after three washes. I used to have bad dandruff but haven’t had any in years.

I received this wrapped in plastic but once you take the plastic off, there is no seal on the bottle itself. When I opened the top and looked inside, half of the product is empty. This did not leak out, so what is going on here? It was sold by Philip Kingsley and shipped by Amazon, no third party seller. I have been scammed by the actual sellers! This should be illegal, this is not cheap shampoo! I guess they don’t want repeat buyers.
*changing my review because this shampoo ready helped me without stripping out my hair color. The shampoo is very thick and concentrated, so maybe it’s heavy and just doesn’t fill up the bottle. I’m going to order directly and see if it’s the same amount. It’s possible the bottle is too large and the amount is correct since I didn’t weigh it to make sure. Regardless, this made my scalp feel very good without drying it out, so I was happy afterwards.

This review is for the “PHILIP KINGSLEY Flaky Scalp Shampoo for Flaky Dry, Oily Scalps Cleansing Scalp Care Hair Products Soothing, Soothes and Calms, 8.45 oz.” This shampoo may just be the holy grail! My husband has a flaky scalp and has tried dozens of different treatments, from the typical Head and Shoulders shampoo to prescription strength stuff. Nothing really helps. This shampoo is the first one to reduce his “snowstorm” of dandruff into a tiny “flurry.” He still has an itchy head, unfortunately – but at least the flakes are significantly reduced. Going through the ingredients, I found the likely cause: piroctone olamine. It’s an anti-fungal compound that is often used as a safer alternative to zinc pyrithione (the usual ingredient in Head and Shoulders). I don’t think we’ve tried it before, though. Given the cost of this shampoo (currently over $40 for the 8.45 oz bottle), I think we’ll look for this ingredient in less pricey formulas.

I was a little skeptical about this shampoo at first. I tend to go with basic, store bought, grooming products and they’re usually adequate for my needs. However, I was suffering from some itching on my scalp around the crown of my head. Luckily, for a male in his 60s, I still have a pretty thick head of hair, although it’s a lot coarser and bushier than it was when I was younger.
The shampoo is clear with a very slight fragrance. It lathered up particularly well given how hard the water is in coastal Los Angeles where I live. Afterward, my hair felt noticeably softer than I’m used to. Best thing was, after a few days the dryness and itching on my scalp had calmed considerably, indicating that this really does work. This is a bit beyond my needs to use as a daily product but I’m going to keep it in the bathroom cabinet in case I have future flare-ups.
A good, niche, product that I’m happy to recommend.

I get flaky scalp RARELY. My hair care routine is good, and I shower daily. I waited for a day when I was overworked and noticed a little flaking to try it. Usually when it starts, it’s there for a few days. I can tell when I put product in and run my hands through my hair.
So! I tried it. And my hair felt lovely, quote soft, shiny, and the flakiness was gone. And didn’t persist like normal!
Decent sized bottle, I didn’t have to use a lot. I don’t know how effective it will be if you have severe flaking hair, but it works for my mild case.
