I have used Neutrogena, proactiv, clearasil, clean and clear, biore, loreal and probably many other cleansers. I’ve been using this product for about a month now and it’s smell is kinda subtle but it’s honestly the best scent I’ve had in a cleanser, and very well balanced. After just one pump, it removes most of my make up which is always a shock to me. The cleanser is so light but you feel so clean afterwards. I’m on a couple dermatologist prescribed meds for my acne, so I’m not 100% sure if this helps with acne but it definitely seems to assist since I don’t have breakouts anymore. I am definitely going to buy another bottle.

It’s a gentle gel cleanser that cleans deep into the pores & the salicylic acid prevents clogged pores. I have combination skin… this wash mattifies my face and shrinks pores.
You can expect it to be drying, as salicylic acid often is. All you need is a simple moisturizer afterwards. I use benzoyl peroxide treatment after moisturizing and between the two I stay clear.
Like I said. Been using this face cleanser for years.

Skin Profile (FYI): Oily, Acne prone, age 28, female

I started using the Clear Days Ahead moisturizer and really liked it, so I thought I would try pairing it with this face wash. The face wash and my skin do not get along. The actually face wash itself is pleasant, with a light citrus scent that doesn’t linger beyond a few minutes after washing. You only need one scant pump to have more than enough to wash your face, which is good for something at this price point.

The problem, however, was that the face wash was just too much for my skin. I have oily, acne prone skin, but even just using this face wash once a day, I found the drying to be excess. I was having to use more moisturizer than before, and found my skin to be red and irritated after using the face wash. I’ve also had more acne than before using it, even though I’m past the period in which my skin normally gets used to new products and taking into consideration that new products usually make me break out.

I really wanted to like this product, but it is just far too harsh for my skin. Even my lips started needing crazy chapstick application because they were getting super dry around the edges from coming into contact with the face wash. So, be prepared to have dryness. Hopefully this will work for you, but I would only recommend it for the oiliest of the oiliest — and my skin can be pretty darn oily.

I will, however, highly recommend the Clear Days Ahead moisturizer, because it’s the only one that ever balanced my oily skin in a meaningful way that wasn’t awful feeling.

I have acne prone skin and was hoping to find a product that would help. Tried this product for three days and immediately dried out my skin. After day two my face and neck started to break out in an itchy rash.

  5. MoonBeachbum

I’ve been using this for just over a week now, & my already dry skin has become so much more dry, I’ve got visible dryness around my lips and my nose that is itchy, irritating and embarrassing, no amount of moisturizer is helping. I have small red bumps all over my cheeks now, which has never been a problem area for me before. I had a zit when I first tried it, and it’s just now going away, & I got one the other day that also seems defiant. I really wanted this to work. Now I’m trying to figure out what to do with it all, I have to be wasteful but I imagine I’ll be dumping it soon. Back to clearasil.

I’ve been using this facewash for about a month now, and my skin is absolutely clearer. I’ve had problem areas on my cheeks for a couple of years now (thanks adult onset acne…) and they have completely cleared up. I’m using the Clear Days astringent pads and moisturizer as well. The pads I only use every other day because they do dry my face out quite a bit (I contribute this to living in a high desert climate in winter as well). I definitely suggest using a serum as well as a moisturizer with this face wash because it does tend to dry out sensitive skin, but I’m leaving 5 stars because it absolutely improved the overall look of my skin as well as clearing up my acne, which is why I purchased it. I’ll absolutely buy this again.

I got this product to try for my adult acne. As a teenager I had terrible skin to the point I was on accutane. As a young adult my skin has been pretty good but I still have occasional breakouts. With the weather change and (the time of the month) my skin really freaked out. I got a couple cystic bumps along with some tiny whiteheads around my mouth and cheeks. I use my Philosiphy Purity cleanser everyday with my clarisonic but I knew I needed something stronger. I used this twice a day for two days. Although my skin is clearing up for the most part my skin became very dry. I have naturally sensitive combination skin. This made my skin feel kind of rough and itchy. I’m taking a break and from it and I’ll probably use it just at night. If you have sensitive skin I would recommend using one a day and not overdue it. Use a good moisturizer too with this. The purity mask in their line helps keep the face feeling good especially when it’s feeling dry and dull!

I’m a 20-something with relatively clear skin and I love this cleanser! It’s a bit on the pricey side (but cheaper on Amazon than Sephora), but it’s the one formula that has kept me from breaking out. I have tried drugstore brands, but nothing beats this—the few times I do break out, it’s gone within day with this! I’ve used this for about 4 years and my skin has not gotten used to it.

Also, the bottle looks small but can last 1-2 years if you use half a pump (you don’t need too much formula) or dilute it and put it in a foam dispenser.
