I thought I was getting a cream cleanser. It is a gel so kind of drying for the face. I do have dry skin .

This new version is very strong for my normal/sensitive skin and dries it out far too much. Original version was much better.

I have been using Philosophy Purity as my face wash for many years, and I love it. When re-ordering this time, I didn’t notice the tiny little black box that said “Oil-Free” on the picture of the bottle (it was not included in the written description). It is a clear gel. I don’t like it nearly as much as the original Purity. I’m going to use it for a week and see what it does to my face – so far, my skin does not feel as moisturized after I wash it. (Which makes sense.) Wish I would have gotten the original. 🙁

I was searching for quite a while for an oil free face wash that didn’t have acne fighting chemicals or other additives. I recently began using tretinoin cream so I wanted a simple oil free face wash. This stuff is wonderful!!! It lathers really nicely and I only need a dime sized amount for my entire face. I’ll probably stick with this face wash for many years to come.

Purity has great ratings across the board, and I liked the original, but the oil-free version is even better. I love the way it thickly lathers up (in the way that the original version does not). But because of how it lathers, I only need to use half the product every time I wash, making it last longer (which really helps since they don’t offer it in the bulk size bottles). I never had oily skin in my life, until about 2ish years ago. It’s horrible to manage. This has definitely helped cut the oily experience by almost half. It’s a huge help. The fragrance isn’t bad, but it isn’t great either. (But I will say, if any accidentally gets in your mouth, it has a horrible taste. Most face washes I don’t notice if it accidentally happens, this one I start spitting like crazy. But it’s not enough of a deterrent to stop using it lol.) Wish they sold it in the bigger sizes like they do the original!!

The Philosophy brand has always been my go to for face wash. This is the first time I’ve tried a wash other than the original, but, as usual Philosophy delivers the best! My skin feels so amazing after I use it. Compared to the original, it seems a little thicker. Other than that, it is the same face wash that melts away make-up, does not sting your eyes, and leaves your skin feeling fabulous!
