nice kit for beginners, the pen has a good thickness and feels nice in the hand, you can add grip tape, and gets even better, the pen is wired so it comes with a pedal and power supply both work pretty good in the combo, I would diffidently would have liked a longer cable for the pedal but still is a decent part, the vibration levels of the pen are nice it hums and vibrated nice and steady, everything comes packed on a nice case to make everything mobile.

I’ve purchased a few of their item in the past and they’ve always delivered. My wife finds them just as good as the ones from an actual tattoo store.

Honestly I ordered this as a novelty item as I have no real intensions of being an tattoo artist or even tattooing myself. I did order some extra practice skins so I can play around with this kit a bit and learn the in’s and out’s of tattooing.

I was a bit disappointed in the foot pedal that came with the set. I specifically chose this set because of the foot control but as it happens, the pedal is nothing more than a switch to turn the gun on and off. I was hoping it was a variable speed controller switch much like a sewing machine where you could control the speed of the gun but the speed is controlled by the power supply and has to be constantly adjusted for the work being performed. A variable speed foot pedal would have been much better for controlling the speed while working so the work flow could progress uninterrupted.

Other than that one issue with the foot pedal, I can say that I an very impressed with the quality of the ink gun as it is quite beefy, not a cheap piece of plastic, but a nicely made aluminum housing with what sounds like a decent solenoid inside of it. The power supply is another story but seems to get the job done. I ran the gun through the full range, from lowest to highest but it seems to perform best between 8 and 15, above 15 and the solenoid seems erratic, below 5 it seems extremely week, but 8 sounds about perfect for the low end.

Now I’m kind of curious to see if I can make an adapter to replace the tattoo needles with engraving chisels and see if I can use this for engraving too. Summer project for the machine shop. LOL

Anyway, if you’re looking to get into tattooing, you’re low budget options seem to be this type gun with wired power and controls or the wireless type with a heavy battery and controller sitting atop the gun. I have a feeling those might lend to arm fatigue but as I have yet to hold one in my hand, I can only speculate. This one is heavy enough but I like it.

Wow, received this tattoo kit, and I’m blown away by the performance and accessories that it came with. Everything is packed neatly inside the carrying case, and has every single thing you need to start tattooing. It’s really well thought out, and the value is off the charts. The machine is easy to use and clean, and the voltage settings are fantastic. VERY impressed by the value of this kit.

I’ve tried two of these and once I tried to charge them on a basic charger they have stopped working. I’m not sure what’s going on but it is not any better getting the power pack.

I think the pen and functionality is great. Just a reminder DONT USE THE INK ON REAL SKIN but overall 10/10

This is such a nice kit that has everything you need to start tattooing. You’ll definitely need to get more supplies as you continue, but it’s truly a great starting kit that allows beginners to dip their toe into tattooing without too much of an investment – especially great if you aren’t sure or later decide it isn’t for you. I do wish the case was just a bit bigger to allow for more storage of things though.

  8. BusyBee

Great little practice starter kit, has everything you could need to practice. The gun has a decent feels and runs smoothly. The pedal is on/off only and kind of cheap, but since it’s only used sparingly it’ll do.
Impressed with the amount of items packed into the kit with plenty of practice skins to start you off.
As someone else mentioned, the wires are kind of basic, BUT for the price point and being a kit, it’s not bad at all.

  9. Chris/Steph

Looking to dip your toes into the tattooing world without breaking the bank? This tattoo machine kit might just be your ticket! While the tattoo pen itself is decent enough to get the job done, it’s the enthusiasm and beginner-friendly design that really shine through.

I strongly urge you to get drawing and color theory down before you even fire one of these up. Practice on fake skin and if you’re going to touch real skin please do some research and get certified in bloodborne pathogens. Don’t mess people up, please.
