I’m a dentist, and I use this toothpaste.

Traditionally, I’d recommended Prevident 2000 or Gelkam to patients who are cavity prone or have dry mouth.
However, Dr. Jeff Brucia at FACE recommended Enamelon + MI paste as a combination for dry mouth or remineralization.
After reading a few studies, I started recommending this to my patients (after testing it out on myself).
    […] (here’s one study).

Enamelon is the only toothpaste that I know of (as of this writing) that has Activated Calcium Phosphate (ACP).
I recommend that my patients use it exclusively, as the bioavailability of ACP is topical (not systemic).
I like that it doesn’t have artificial colors, microbeads (Crest, Colgate […]/), and too much artificial or gimmicky things. This is fairly gentle toothpaste–*no abrasive* (just looked up the MSDS), ACP, some stannous fluoride (not a lot), a mild flavor, and no fancy coloring…and NO SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE (a known tissue irritant)!

    This is good for:
    1. Reversing/preventing acid damage (due to the stannous fluoride effect).
    2. Minimizing sensitivity, especially associated with whitening or recession (due to ACP).
    3. Reversing/remineralizing early cavities (due to ACP and stannous fluoride).
    4. Dry mouth/older patients (due to ACP and fluoride)

    This does nothing for:
    1. Gums. No toothpaste really does anything for your gums. Get floss, a waterpik, or some chlorhexidine oral rinse.
    2. Whitening teeth. Actually, I’d avoid any “whitening toothpaste” as it just has extra abrasive compound and free radicals. If you’re going to whiten your teeth, do it properly with custom whitening trays and buffered Whitening solution.

    Regarding turning your teeth brown:
Very unlikely. If this toothpaste “turned your teeth brown,” you likely have something else that happened (diet (tea, coffee, red wine, tobacco, berries) exposure to lots of minerals in tap water; swimming pool chlorine; something that killed bacteria in your mouth..) While stannous fluoride can turn teeth brown, this particular toothpaste doesn’t have a large amount of it.
In any case, an staining from this toothpaste should be fairly easily removed by a trained dental professional.

ps. Anyways, I just placed another order for this (for a patient) and will likely be recommending this toothpaste as my toothpaste of choice (aside for kids too young to spit).

I was given my first tube of enamelon by a dentist and I have been hooked since. My teeth feel so clean after using this, I thought the taste was a little weird at first but now I hate the taste of other toothpaste. The price seems high but one tube lasts me a couple of months, a little goes a long way and the tube is designed to use less. Definitely worth the money.

I love this product in that it delivers what it advertises. It’s great for people that get irritations around their lips or mouth with regular brand toothpastes. Only knock I have is that it is some work squeezing out of the tube. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars.

I have been a dentist for over a decade and have tried many different toothpastes for sensitivity and/or “remineralization” of teeth. This product works very well. It is the best product made for these purposes, in my experienced opinion. I use it every day myself. I have hundreds of patients that have struggled with sensitive teeth until they tried Enamelon. The gel tastes a little bit better, but I use and recommend the toothpaste version unless a person is interested in an addition step when conducting personal oral hygiene practices. If you use the gel version, you should brush your teeth with some sort of toothpaste immediately prior to applying the gel. If you’re only going to use this product once a day, do it at night, right before sleep.

I have seen this toothpaste restrengthen (remineralize) many early stage cavities, preventing expensive dental work. I enjoy helping people get their cavities fixed when necessary, but prevention is so much better!

Pro tips for avoiding tooth decay (warning – you’re going to be really dental smart after reading this…) :

    1. Brush twice a day for AT LEAST two minutes using Enamelon, focusing on every tooth individually… all sides of each tooth, including at the gumline. I cannot remember ever spending less than five minutes brushing my teeth… it takes time to do the job well. Use soft or extra soft bristled toothbrushes. Go with Sonicare (one of the top two models) for the best available home cleaning. The “sonic” disrupts and removes plaque much more effectively, in hard to reach areas, than the rotary or reciprocating electric toothbrushes (in my experienced opinion, both first and second hand).

    2. Avoid/limit sweets, including both foods and drinks.

    3. Avoid/limit acidic foods and drinks (including juices). Rinsing your mouth with water after indulging in these types of foods is helpful.

    4. Avoid frequent eating/snacking. Too frequent eating is a bad deal for teeth, as it promotes a prolonged acidic pH in the mouth which causes mineral loss from enamel. Avoiding eating and drinking (other than water) between meals provides time for the mouth to recover to a neutral or even basic pH which allows the teeth to absorb minerals and strengthen the enamel. Enamelon helps enhance this process.

    5. Flossing IS important… but do you want to know what’s even better? Waterpik water flossing. It is much more effective than traditional flossing. It is much more comfortable than traditional flossing. It replaces all of your floss and floss-like gadgets you might have tried, including specialty tools for cleaning around implants or bridges. You’ll make a beautiful water mess the first time or two you use it. It takes a few uses to get the hang of it. Follow the instructions and you’ll catch on quickly.

Healthy smiles feel good and can last a lifetime. I hope this help you!

My review is essentially in the title. This is a thick paste. That may take some getting used to, but it seems to provide a protective layer around my teeth. It has done wonders for my extreme sensitivity.

Also, I am one that likes a toothpaste that has fluoride. My dentist rarely makes specific suggestions about a specific brand, but has told me to make sure that I use a fluoride toothpaste.

There have been times when I have run out of this and tried a regular store brand. I can tell a difference immediately. They are very harsh. This is perfect.
