I already had these flat irons from years ago that I got at a local beauty supply store. They are heavier and the rubber strip in the plates goes from edge to edge.
I decided to get another flat iron because the rubber plate is very brittle and kinda falling apart.
When I got this one, it was lighter in weight and the rubber strip didn’t go from edge to edge.
Still does a pretty good job at straightening. I think the rubber strip helps with separating the strands of hair so you don’t have to use a comb and “chase” your hair when flat ironing.

I’m a professional hairstylist and use many flat irons. I like that this one gets hot however The outside gets really too hot to touch. It comes with a glove however most professionals with the heavy clientele don’t really have time for a glove. The outside just gets too hot to handle.
