This foil shaver is good for trimming a few days worth of facial hair growth. It’s not going to be as close as a traditional razor, but it’s not trying to be. It’s good for maintaining light stubble.

It can cause a bit more of a mess than other electric razors, so it’s best to use when you’re not wearing a shirt. It disassembles for cleaning easy enough.

Listen, I’m a razor guy, but that takes a bit of time and needs cleanup.

I bought this 3 years ago and lost the charger. Last charge was about 9 months ago and it still had plenty of charge with a few uses since then. The head needed replacing and since I couldn’t find the charger separate, I decided to buy the exact same model again. This thing with a brand head is as close as a razor. If you want a cheap daily maintainer then get this. It’s amazing especially for the price.

Sem cortes, suave, em qualquer lugar e em qualquer momento você faz a sua barba.

I bought this model to replace my 11-year-old Remington Model F4790. My old Remington has served me well and frankly still works – the battery doesn’t hold a charge anymore, but I’ve been using it as a corded shaver just fine. I’ve replaced countless screens and blades and have been quite happy. It was time to replace the foil screen again and I just decided to replace the whole thing.

I selected PF7400 as the nearest replacement. The shaver is lighter despite being a little larger. The shave head is different and it does a nice comfortable job shaving. My older F4790 had a movable head, and the new PF7400 does too. They both have trimmers on the back, and those trimmers are adequate but nothing special.

I do have a two gripes with the new shaver that may be a deal-breaker:

    1) The new Remington PF7400 will ONLY operate on the charged battery. If the battery is low or dead, you can’t plug the shaver in to use it. The plug is for charging ONLY. So, if this thing activates in your luggage on an airplane and is dead when you get to your destination you’ve a got a 16-24 hour charge to accomplish before you can use it. Better have a razor handy. My older Remington F4790 could have just plugged in while in use, then continue to charge. Bad design, moving backwards in technology – in my opinion.

    2) The cord sucks compared to my older Remington model F4790. It’s a cheesy thin charger cord on the end of a tiny adapter. It’s a wadded-up mess when you receive it new, and that’s probably not going to improve with age. Whereas my older Remington F4790 had a nice coiled charger cord that has still kept it’s shape 11 years later.

I can recommend it for a fairly close comfortable shave, but I knock 2-stars off of it because the technology has regressed, not improved, over older models.

    Smooth, effective close shave.

I have used a Braun shaver for years and it was ok but not that great. I thought I would try this Remington shaver. I was pleasantly surprised as the Remington did a better job shaving. It shaved closer and was not that difficult to clean. (I used a compressed air can to clean it). I have both the Braun and this Remington lower priced models and have tried higher priced models and saw no difference in performance. I do not know how long the cutting edge on this Remington will last but will update once I find out.

This was my second one I purchased. It is a very good shaver and it shaves nearly as good as a razer blade. It is easy to clean and lasts a long time on a single battery charge.

I don’t know how its possible to make a shaver this good for such low cost. This is a good razor. Its well built, looks good ,gives a close, comfortable shave and is quiet. I was reluctant to buy, because of the low price, but I am very glad I bought it. Well worth the money.

    1. This thing needs 16 hours to fully charge! Plan on that!
    2. They say battery life is best if you fully run it down now and then before recharging — don’t just leave it plugged in to charge all the time when you’re not using. So.. after one big charge, I leave mine unplugged for several days of use. When I finally notice the battery is going dead, I plug it back in for another 16 hours.
    3. It is comfortable to shave, smooth rolling on my face, but… it takes several swipes over each area to finally get all the stubble and whiskers — and even then, I don’t feel like it has shaved me as close as I could with a razor blade. I think that’s because you always have the thickness of the ‘foil’ covering over the snipper blades to deal with. It will only clip whiskers that go THRU that foil into the tiny holes to be snipped. But that’s a problem with ALL electric shavers.
    4. It comes equipped with a clip-on plastic thing for those who WANT to shave and leave a stubble. I guess that’s a popular thing these days with you young guys. Never was in my day. (I’m 76)
    5. The size is a wee bit bigger than my old Remington that had a different, square, shape I used for about 40 years. So, it needs a bit more room in my suitcase when I travel. Not a big deal, but I travel a lot and have my own traditional packing methods and this shaver required a new plan.
    6. The reviews are good. So I’m planning on this shaver working and doing its job for the next 10 years or so.

Works really good once you get used to it but close shave will be problem

My Dad is 73 now and shakes too much to use a razor. Got him this for his birthday and he loves it.
