Me encanto la textura, el olor y que es totalmente natural y tiene muy buen tamaño, llevo una semana usándolo y no me han olido las axilas!

I always buy natural deodorants that are aluminum free so I’ve tried more than a few. I was previously using Piper Wai, which I love, love, love, but I was missing the ease and convenience of having deo in a stick (Piper Wai is in a jar and you put it on with your fingers). So I decided to give the Schmidts a go. I like it, but I don’t LOVE it. Here’s the pros and cons:

The pros: it has a great scent. Rose and vanilla can sometimes come off as a weird, old lady-ish kind of smell, but this one is nice and light. It’s floral without being overdone and the vanilla adds a mild powdery scent that I like. My grandma used to have this rose scented powder with a huge poof that she would put on after a bath and it reminds me of that, in a good way.

It also works well to control odor. I can sniff my pit at the end of the day and get no stink, only a slightly more faint whiff of that same rose and vanilla scent. It keeps BO at bay even after I’ve sat out in the heat and humidity or worked out. I would give it an A+ in the stink prevention category.

It’s convenient. It comes in the traditional stick container that I can throw in my bag without having to worry it’s going to melt or leak like the jarred deodorants can. And, a little goes a long way. You can go light on the application and still get good results.

The cons: a little goes a long way. All of the Schmidts info says to go light on the application but with a lot of deos, if a little is good, more is better. Not true with this one! Seriously, one, maybe two swipes and STOP. If you over apply, the deo ends up rubbing off all over your clothes. And this scent is a deep rose pink, so especially on light colored clothes, it can make a mess. I have more than one light colored tank top with pinkish pit stains. It does wash out in the laundry so that’s a plus. I find myself waiting until I’m totally dressed then trying to reach up under my clothes to put it on so I don’t end up with deo stains on my clothes from the dressing process. I should not have to adjust the order of my morning routine out of fear of deo stains! Light application does help but it doesn’t completely alleviate the pink residue on my clothes.

It’s scratchy when you apply it. You know those pumice stones you use on calloused heels? Well this deodorant sort of feels like a pumice stone on my armpits. It’s not bothersome enough that I want to stop using it and it hasn’t caused a rash or redness, it’s just mildly annoying enough that I notice it every time I put it on.

The summary: it works well enough that I will probably buy it again. I like the ingredients. I like the company philosophy. I like the scents and the cons aren’t annoying enough for me write this deo off. I think I’m going to go for a different scent, hopefully one that’s a lighter color that will be less noticeable when it inevitably rubs off on my clothes.

I think this product is great after only about a week of use. I like it better than my last activated charcoal deodorant that I’ve been using for over a year (history below). The application is a bit annoying but I’ve been used to getting my deodorant from a small glass jar so this stick isn’t really a big deal to me. My biggest concern going in was the smell. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the scent more than my prior deodorants. I notice a slight citrus overtone when I put it on and it fades throughout the morning. I was afraid that the stronger smell would be noticeable by those around me but my wife could hardly smell it through a t-shirt with her nose right up close. The crazy thing is that at the end of a full day 10-12 hours after application I notice a baby powder scent. It’s mild and I love it. Laying on the couch at 10pm I still smell fresh and my arm pits seem softer than before. I’m only a week in and things could change but baring any major changes I’ve found my new deodorant.

Finally the price is a great value compared to my previous choice. Larger amount for 40% less cost.

My biggest fear with these small natural deodorant companies is that they will have supply chain issues, change the formula, or just go away. Schmidt’s seems to have a following and a robust lineup of products so maybe my concerns will be unfounded.
Background: After years of wearing Antiperspirant/Deodorant from major brands and finally Mitchum’s and still sweating I decided to switch to a deodorant only. My first was Arm and Hammer’s Essentials. It worked great and had a pleasant smell which wasn’t strong smelling (I really liked the smell). The only problem with A&H Essentials was I started noticing a red rash in my arm pits. It didn’t itch it wasn’t raised my skin was just red. I kept using it for a while because who sees my armpits other than me. I mentioned it during a doctor’s visit and they just said: sounds like you’re allergic to something in it.
I remembered seeing the Piper Wia pitch on Shark Tank so I went to their site and bought a container. It was pretty pricey compared to what I was used to spending and I was scooping it out of a little glass jar (LOVE!!! those little glass jars for reuse) but I liked it. So I’ve been using Piper Wia for over a year and I’ve even recommended it to other people. I started ordering it from amazon as a prime item for a couple of dollars more than the PW site because it seemed to take forever to ship and deliver. It was worth the $2 premium to get it faster. I started noticing inconsistencies in the product. It seemed harder and darker in color when I opened it up and I thought the scent had changed a little. It wasn’t a huge deal and I chalked the first two up to the fact that it contained coconut oil which tends to solidify at colder temps. Then I started to notice that by the end of the day I was starting to notice my body odor using PW. I even felt like sweat had an odd smell almost spicy but I thought it could be my diet or some other factor.
My last amazon order was delayed and I was almost out of PW. Then I was out and using my backup in my overnight bag so I went on the hunt for something new. I started my search for other Deodorants containing activated Charcoal and came across Schmidt’s.

Je ne connaissais pas cette fragrance mais elle est très agréable, le format est plus grand qu’en France et celui ci est bien sans bicarbonate de soude pour les plus sensibles comme moi.
    Je recommande totalement.

I’ve used pretty much every natural deodorant that exists and Schmidt’s is my go to brand. This scent is light and clean–I never have to worry about body odor.
My only complaint, which happens with all these deodorants is they burn my skin. I’m sensitive to the scented oil so the inner armpit skin gets a little red but honestly not the worst thing in the world. This is my favorite brand by far.

  7. Laurie Zukowski

Tried 2 types. Works well. Love the lavender. A slight fresh scent and all day protection

  8. TheOpiewife

Smell is great! I sweat a lot but find this works well. I sometimes need to reapply in the hot summer if I’m going out in the evening. I did have a reaction when I first started using (my armpits got red and itchy) but I haven’t had an issue for about 2 years now.

  9. D.P.Ray

Schmidt’s fresh rain & birch deodorant is great value & smells good. I’ve tried many different natural deodorants & they’re all quite good but these ones give you more protection duct at a better price. My only complaint with all deoderants is the plastic packaging. I wish we didn’t need plastic so much.

  10. Tiffany

Best longevity out there for a safer deodorant it can stain white on clothes but you have to pretty much work with it I put my shirt on first always then I use it and it last so long my armpits smells good for a good ten hours and if you would like you can reapply during the day but it does such a good job I go to the gym and have 0 issues I love this product!!! i think if your a person with a strong odor maybe reapply during the day keep it in your purse 👛
