My girlfriend and I both struggle with dry skin/dandruff. Recently she commented that she hadn’t seen any on me in a long time and she was wondering what my secret was. I thought about what I was doing differently. It was this product. Not only does it smell like an ocean breeze, has good hold and finish, it’s so good for my scalp longterm.

    It’s cracked the code!

I have low-porosity, super straight, fine Asian hair. This works very well (strong hold, matte finish) when my hair is short but is not my favorite when my hair starts to grow out (e.g. 3-5 inches long). I prefer the textured, slightly-messy-but-still-professional look and have found that look to be a little difficult to achieve with Northern Lights as compared to some other products (shout out to Kevin Murphy Night Rider / Rough Rider for that!). With slightly longer hair, this product makes my hair appear a little too bone-straight for my liking. Nevertheless, I still find myself reaching for this frequently especially when sporting shorter hair as it offers a nice hold, pleasant subtle woodsy-earthy smell, matte finish, and great value – definitely my favorite for this price range. It’s also easy to wash out. I would recommend trying this on hair that’s ever-so-slightly damp.

Gentlemen, I’ve used them all – and I mean ALL. Cheap ones, expensive ones, really expensive ones, in fact I’ve likely spent thousands and thousands on different hair waxes, clays, pastes and potions. Some have delivered – most have not.

In fairness, I am incredibly particular and i realise I probably care way too much about hair products but… I also know that I’m not alone in my quest for “the one”.

Let me tell you that this is it.
First of all, my hair is fair and fine yet difficult to manage – it has a slight wave and is also quite dry. Closest example I could give you would be someone like Michael Fassbender.

I’m typically looking for a product to go into the hair easily, add thickness and texture and provide a decent matte hold without being overly drying. Northern Lights does all of this. What really stands out is how malleable it remains and how healthy it leaves your hair feeling during the course of the day.

It works every single time – no bad hair days any longer. I hate to use the expression but this really is a ‘game changer’.

You will not regret this. Trust me.

  4. Pusha

One of the best pastes I’ve used. Lightweight, great hold and texture, and smells nice. Very easy to wash out, yet stays in your hair throughout the day.

  5. Sammy

  6. Realist

It was a relief to find a product that works that creates that textured look and stays in place and it doesn’t feel as heavy, easy to wash out and I don’t even have to use hairspray to keep it in place, like I’ve said before because it’s amazing it does its job, highly recommend.

This is my second order of Northern Lights. The first jar was great, high hold, matte, low scent. This new jar is medium or low hold, matte, no scent. I cannot use it. I reached out on their website for resolution, no response. Very disappointed, I liked this product especially because it seems to be made with more natural ingredients. I suppose it doesn’t matter how a product is made of there are inconsistencies and if it doesn’t work.

  8. Daniel Harmon

Kind of difficult to apply at first due to consistency and texture but has good hold.. but smells like orange scented cardboard. Thankfully the scent isn’t that strong and fades relatively quick.

I love this product, and I’ve been searching for a long time. I’ve tried paul mitchell, hanz de fuko, jack henry, and lots of other top tier brands, and none compare to Shear Revival. I have fine to medium hair, and this product offers solid hold with a natural, matte look. It will shift throughout the day, particularly since it is formulated with natural botanical ingredients, but what I love is that you can restyle it at any time and it will regain hold and style. With other products, like Paul Mitchell’s clay, it is so thick and sticky that you can barely style your hair in the first place. I’ve also found that if I don’t shower immediately the day after, I can throw a little more product in and restyle my hair without having to rinse it, which is a big plus. I’ll sometimes have some morning meetings before getting a workout it, and it’s nice to be able to quickly get my hair looking presentable without having to rinse, dry, restyle, etc. The classy glass jar doesn’t hurt either. If you’re on the fence, I’d say this product is worth giving a shot!

I recently tried Shear Revival Northern Lights Matte Paste, and it has made all the difference in my hair styling routine. This product is perfect for anyone who wants a high-quality styling product that provides a natural, matte finish. The texture of the paste is smooth and easy to apply, and it provides a great hold that lasts all day. The paste added volume to my hair and helped me to achieve my desired style without any effort. One of the things I love most about this paste is that it’s made with all-natural ingredients. This paste is the perfect option for anyone who wants a styling product that is free of harmful chemicals and dyes. Another great thing about this paste is its versatility. It works well for all hair types, whether you have thick or thin hair, and it’s great for achieving a variety of styles. Even my curly hair received a more defined look and added texture after applying the paste. Overall, I would highly recommend Shear Revival Northern Lights Matte Paste to anyone looking for a high-quality styling product that provides a natural, matte finish. It’s a great value for a product that is made with natural ingredients, works for all hair types, and keeps your hair looking and feeling great all day.

    Pros:
Scent is amazing, very light and natural
Hold is definitely high, but pliable and responsive
Great in both towel-dried and blow dried hair
Applies very easily and washes out about 90% with just water (just how i like it, i don’t like when products completely fall apart when your hair gets a little damp or sweaty)
Lots of product for the price and high quality ingredients (I love Shear Revival and the effort they put in)
Works great for all hair types; i have one of the most difficult to manage hair types you can possibly have and this thing gives tons of control
Feels super light and smooth in the hair (amazing for my thick course frizzy hair)
    Cons:
Depending on your hair length and thickness, this might not be enough hold for you. if you want a natural hairstyle that you can run your hands through then it’s definitely perfect, but if you’re looking for something clean cut it’ll only really be good for you if you have short to medium length hair.
