I use this on my face, décolletage, neck, behind my ears, and top of hands at night about 30 minutes before I lay down. It’s working wonders!! I’ve used it for a little while now and right off the bat it helped with my eye bags I seem to get when I sleep nowadays. This is a HUGE deal for me as I’ve tried so many home remedies to help with this and nothing worked, even so far as putting my whole face in an ice bath (hello brain freeze). It’s improving my skin texture and helping with dullness. Make sure you only use at night and avoid using too much, if any, around the very thin parts of your eyes as it can cause flaking to occur bc your skin doesn’t exfoliate in that area as fast and this product causes you to produce more cells aka ending up with too much equals flakings. I use it twice a week and that took about 4 weeks to get up to. If you use it too often you’ll get flakes as well, kinda looks like a sunburn peeling.
Don’t use if your skin is damaged from the sun or if you plan on being in the sun the next day. It’s basically damaging your skin so your body sends more collagen to that area to “heal” it so if you damage it with the product and then with the sun then it’s overwhelming and can harm your skin vs helping it.
Sunscreen constantly. I set an alarm on my phone for every two hours to reapply.
If you use this product correctly it can do wonders for your appearance but please do a reasonable amount of research before you use. Happy customer here, good luck beauties!!

I was a little skeptical that this would work to help my complexion and aging issues. It was recommended by my dermatologist and as can be expected, I got it cheaper than if I purchased it in his office. I have been using it for 12 weeks now and I can actually say that my skin has improved…not tons, but enough to really make me appear a little younger. My skin tone is more even, pores are a little less noticeable, and skin looks much smoother. I cannot honestly say that wrinkles have disappeared, but I hope that will come with continued use.

I still love this product as much as I did a year ago. I am almost 50 and everyone thinks I am in my early 30’s. Now, I realize that genetics play a big role for me here as I have always looked younger than I really am, but I am convinced this product helps things along. I use .5 strength in the winter, 1. Strength in the summer, sunscreen every day (one containing zinc oxide like solbar) and lush’s full of grace every morning and night. I have combination skin and none of these products react bad to my skin. I still experience a little dryness from the retinol…I just combat that with a sea salt scrub twice a week.

I bought the .5% and my face peels and I live it! This is the real deal. Once your skin adjusts the peeling stops. I’ve noticed a marked difference in my skin texture for the better!

I abused Retin-A for many years and had to stop using it because my skin got so red, flaky and irritated. Now I’m trying to adjust to retinol for its anti-aging effects. I have very oily, red, inflamed, acne-prone skin that is also thin and sensitive (yeah, freakin’ awesome for me). I tried Paula’s Choice similar strength retinol but found it was too strong for me. It irritated my skin and caused break-outs.
My esthetician says you need to build up to using retinol every other day. Basically, you need to use it continuously to get the anti-aging benefits. This product is very good. It is effective but not so strong as to unduly irritate the skin. I’ve battled flaky skin for years due to the abuse of benzoyl peroxide, Retin-A and other products, so I go through spurts using this as I can’t stand being “flaky” all the time.
Any retinol product will make you “flaky” – that’s the gig – so you need to use more moisturizer when on retinol. But this product, when I’m using it, makes my skin brighter and more even. It does not irritate my skin as past products have done. But it has sufficient strength to make a difference, if used regularly. Rated high for overall quality of ingredients by Paula’s Choice. It works, and I believe, is one of the top Retinols on the market.

Soooo wow!!! This stuff is serious!!! I highly advise to start out slow when beginning with a retinoid product. I, on the other hand, dove in and was using it twice a day which was kind of a mistake. My face was on fiyah!!! But I did start peeling which uncovered new soft skin. I have since backed down to using it once a day and still peel but that’s ok cuz I know when using retinoids that slow and steady wins the race. I plan on using this product for the next 6 to 8 months in order to get the full benefit on my 50 something year old skin. The benefits I have seen thus far have been awesome as I use this in conjunction with a Korean skin care regimen. In the beginning I had red, irritated skin with a few breakouts, which is normal for the first few weeks. You don’t need a lot of this product at all. A pea size will do the trick. I also use it on the back of my hands and neck and chest area. Lastly, I do apply a good sunscreen. You do not want any sun exposure while treating your skin with any type of retinoid.

I have been using this product for a while now; this is my third repurchase. I use this every other night.. cleanser, toner, This, and then a moisturizer. It leaves my skin feeling very soft the next day. I had tried the 1.0 but it was too harsh…my skin did not adjust…it would be peeling the next day, everytime. The 0.5 is perfect. I am brown skin by the way.
