Once you get past the work of scooping the butter out of the container and getting it ready to apply by rubbing it between your hands, it smooths easily on your body. There is a mild nutty or almost smokey scent when first applied but the scent goes away quickly. I put it on immediately after patting myself dry from the shower and apply a hyaluronic acid based moisturizer over it to help “seal” in the moisture. My body then stays moisturized feeling for the full day. For reference I am a 58 year old woman, with a tendency to have drier, crepey looking skin. This shea butter has truly changed the feel and appearance of my skin. What a bonus that it is organic and sustainably made!!!

I don’t know if I received a bad batch or if my jar was old, but I literally could not use this butter (“butter”). It is so hard and stiff that I can not use my finger to get any of the product on my hand. I ended up using a kitchen utensil to test it…. GOODNESS! I’m actually grateful that I couldn’t use it when I first tried because this stuff STINKS! It is not an odor that I want on my hands, much less my body. An absolute waste of money. Truly, there is nothing positive that I can say about the product.
UPDATE – The seller contacted me to offer a replacement, which I accepted. The replacement jar arrived very quickly.. the video I posted is from my first jar and the images are from the second jar. The replacement jar, as with the first one, was wrapped in plastic shrink wrap and there was a foil seal under the cap… so, I do not believe the issues are related to poor storage.. I’m not sure which jar is worse, though… I finally identified a way to describe the odor – it smells like the powder from the inside of a latex balloon or gloves. Maybe that’s what it is supposed to smell like? Unfortunately, I maintain my negative opinion of the product… however, the seller is fantastic. I am appreciative of their efforts to bring me a sense of satisfaction with my purchase… I have already scheduled the return and both jars will be on their way back to them soon.

I’ve used this stuff throughout my entire pregnancy and ended up with no stretch marks. Does it smell good? Not the best smell. It’s earthy & nutty, but it doesn’t last long. As for the ease of use. Take it out of the container and whip it. You can add your favorite essential oil to it too. I will definitely buy again. It’s helped my dry skin. I feel good about it because it’s clean ingredients. I’m a fan!

So I’m using a small amount and trying to soften it in my hands but it doesn’t all soften very easily. Then I try spreading onto my skin to complete the softening and it does happen eventually but it’s not easy. End result when it does soften is great and moisturizes well.

I’ve purchased this Shea Butter several times now (as well as other brands). I use it to moisturize my hair and skin but also my dog LOVES to use it on his lick mat. He goes insane over Shea Butter! I also use it on his dry cracked paw pads and on his fur/skin after each bath. It makes his fur extremely soft!!
It’s obvious that many people who left reviews for this product, particularly negative reviews, have had no experience with Shea Butter before. It definitely has a unique, natural, light, smell to it. If you’re expecting perfume smell, this is not for you. In my opinion, its not a bad smell but its not comparable to any other smell.
Shea Butter also has a firm texture similar to wax. Depending on how its made, it can also have a gritty, firm-butter texture. This is normal. When you rub it between your hands, it melts right in. It needs to be rubbed thoroughly into the skin in order to absorb. A little bit of product goes a long way. If you’re expecting lotion consistency, this is not for you.
For those of you who have any experience with Shea Butter, this Shea Butter is as expected. I did remove one star due to the increasing price. I understand prices for everything has gone up but this price seems a bit on the expensive side and seems to continue increasing. I will continue to purchase this product though. One jar lasts a VERY long time.

This stuff is great for dry skin , and I’ve also found it great for sunburns, healing tattoos, and chicken skin. It smells really good. It is thick, and can be “greasy” if you load up on it, but even when it’s greasy it gives your skin a shine/glow. Its an all natural product and I’ll take that over putting potentially harmful chemicals on your skin everyday! It will absorb eventually and leave your skin super smooth
