The Night Cage is a cooperative, horror-themed tile placement game that traps 1-5 lost souls within another wordly labyrinth of eternal darkness. Equipped with nothing but dim candles, you must work together to explore the maze and escape. To win, players must each collect a Key, find a Gate, and escape as a group. But escape wont be easy. The weak glow of your candle sheds light on only a small area of the maze at a time. As players move, new pathways are revealed while old ones disappear forever into the darkness, creating an ever- changing play space that requires teamwork and collective strategy to navigate.

The game itself is pretty fun and makes sure that there is a tense and fun atmosphere. Unfortunately during the delivery the box got damaged and since I am a collector of boardgames I feel that the box could have been packed better.

  3. amazing game! Atmospheric and it even has its own soundtrack to listen to (Spotify/Apple Music). It’s creepy, engaging and you have to do teamwork to be able to win.

This is an awesome game! Engaging and creepy haha. Teamwork is a must here, either we all win or we all lose.

The game was fun and is a bit heart pounding at times. The game itself is very fun. But the box arrived at my door pretty dinged up and the bottom was almost busted out. So the product = great, the delivery = the rating I gave

This game is very thematic. The art is really dark. The game looks like a scary night time game. I recommend getting some small LED candles and play in the dark candle light. The components are really high quality. Unfortunately this is in my opinion a case of a game that looks great but plays just ok. In the end, it really felt like we were just flipping tiles. For all the atmosphere the game has, and it has atmosphere, there just is not a lot of game there. The rules with the wax monsters is also a bit confusing, making a simple game a bit confusing at times. This game is like many kickstarter games that have a great look and theme but just lacks the actual game part. It really felt like we were just flipping tiles. Now granted the tiles come from a really cool candle stick type component, but ultimately it was just flipping tiles. I would recommend playing someone else’s copy or finding this game used. I think Lucidity and Horrified are much better games for Halloween or for a spooky night of themed gaming. This games looks great on the table but ultimately was a bit on the boring side.

Awesome for my adult game night we are all experienced board gamers/dungeons and dragons players/ anything table top really. This game was easy to get the hang of and pretty cool to play. The game has alot of different options when setting difficulty, there are many levels from easy to extremely hard. Overall it is an awesome game we will be playing again👍👌

Fun, great introduction/learning video, and extra spooky while played in the dark. Great addition to your board game library and/or gift idea!!

Rule book says 8 keeper tiles while only 6 are available
Rulebook say 13 wax eaters while there are 14

The Night Cage is a very atmospheric CO-OP tile-laying game where you work with other players to try and escape from a dark labyrinth using only the candle you are holding. As you move, older tiles go away forever as they are enshrouded in darkness no longer illuminated by your flame. You are searching for keys to open a gate in order to escape. You discover these by moving around the labyrinth. But beware the Wax Eaters. Monsters that inhabit the labyrinth and hate the light!
This game is very simple to play yet deceptively difficult to win. The way rooms go away as you move away from them really brings an interesting strategy to the game and the attacks of the monsters is straight-forward yet potentially brutal.
Check out this game if you enjoy tile-laying games like Carcassonne or Patchwork but want something a but more horror-tinged and creepy.

Excelente producto, vino un poco dañada la caja. Pero todo lo demás Excelente. El daño se nota que fue por el almacenamiento, por tener cajas arriba.
