This streaks even more easily than most of the brands I’ve tried over the years. If you manage to apply it without streaks however, it does develop a nice color.

I have ordered this exact item 4 times. Clearly, I like the actual product- I would give it 4.5 stars. However, this last time I was very disappointed to find that the product is obviously used- the mitt is covered in the tanner, and the bottle is 99% empty. I prefer to not be mailed items that have been rubbed all over some stranger’s body, but that’s just me I guess. Now I am left to be pale and grossed out.

This tanning set was perfect for trialling a new range of tan without having to buy full sized bottles.
Firstly, the mitt is fantastic. It helps the tan glide on smoothly over your skin and makes it really easy to buff the tan into an even coverage.
Most importantly, there were absolutely no leaks through to my hands. This mitt washes well and can be reused again and again.
The tan is fantastic and develops in 3 hours max – perfect for avoiding fake tan on your bed sheets as it can be applied and washed off in an evening. I found leaving the tan on for 3 hours gave me a great, natural looking glow.
I loved the colour when it developed and it was not orange but very natural and golden.
Overall I was really pleased with this little kit and would definitely buy the larger bottle now.
The little bottles were also perfect for taking on holiday as they are cabin sized! Ideal if, like me you don’t get a beautiful tan from the sun!

As this was the daughters inauguration product into the world of self tanning, we chose this product based on the fact that it stated ‘starter kit’ and assumed, that it would contain detailed instructions and how to apply and use the product, but apart from some basic instructions printed on the inside of the box, we ended up taking advice from online videos.
Thankfully, the wife being a former cosmetic consultant and professional makeup artist, insisted that our daughter performed a ‘patch’ test before applying the mouse, and this worked out to her benefit.
Whilst the daughter had no intention of going the full 3 hours for the darker effect, as she just wanted to eliminate that post winter paleness, she agreed to wash off after 2 hours as indicated on the box.
Applying the patch test to the foot, following online guidance, and after washing and exfoliating, she applied the mouse, which other reviewers have stated has a pleasant aroma, to the bridge of her foot and left for the said two hours, before washing off.
The after effect was indeed impressive, the following morning it was easy to see which foot had the solution applied, and didn’t look fake or streaky as I was expecting, for a first attempt, pretty flawless, and even the wife was impressed.
So why only 4 stars and not the full 5, well after 10 days, its looking pretty rough, partly due to the fact that she swims a lot, and have only just found out that chlorine in the pool will hasten the fading effect, something which isn’t mentioned on the box, but possibly understood by someone who has used the product before.
So as a starter kit, it really does need ‘foolproof’ instructions, together with ‘do’s and don’ts’, even if it just a QR code that would lead you to questions and answers on their website.
Overall, the product was easy to apply, the outcome was better than expected, and the daughter liked it, just needs to do some more research before applying to her face and upper body.

This product works great. I bought the smaller bottle to try it out before buying the big one. The only con is I only got to use it 2 times and it’s empty. So it’s perfect to take on vacation or if u only to tan 2times this is great. The color is great! Another con is the smell isn’t the best. I would buy this again or the bigger size.

The Mitt:
Velvet on one side, thin cotton on the other. Velvet mitts are by far the best type to use when tanning and this one was perfectly fine to use with the mousse. Having said that, it was a bit “crispy” the morning after as it had dried off.
The Mousse:
Comes out brown and when you rub it on the skin you can easily see exactly where you’ve applied it 👌🏼 There’s no smell and it rubbed in quite well. This small bottle is enough to cover your whole body. I’m not sure whether it’s suitable for the face as it doesn’t say, but I can’t see why not.
The Result:
I’m not a fan of the wash off tanners. I mean who has that kind of time that they can apply it then go and take a shower 2 hours later? I decided I wanted a deep tan so that meant leaving it on for 3 hours. However, I got distracted and ended up leaving it on all day. My skin turned a lovely dark honey colour, and it was very natural looking. I didn’t see any colour transfer on my clothes, however I was wearing darkish clothing.
I took a shower the following morning and I’m pleased to say that whilst the bottom of the shower turned brown, the colour remained on my skin. Ever so slightly lighter but still obviously there. The colour lasted about 3 days before I felt it needed reapplying.

The mit you receive is really nice and feels good to spread the mouse over your skin. The material works really well in combination with the tanning mouse and it doesn’t all get absorbed into the mit and allows for a really effective way of applying the tan.
The tanning mouse is nice to apply and is absorbed easily by your skin. I am not a fan of the smell at all and nothing will change my mind on this until they bring out a strawberry smelling tan.
The tan size is good for a trial but I would of liked it to be slightly bigger than it is.
It gives a very nice golden glow tan that blends nicely and looks good.

Loving this self tanner. No streaks, easy to apply with plenty of time to fix any missed spots/self induced streaks. Super easy to blend, and very natural looking. I’m Hispanic with dark hair, but am super pale thanks to my mother’s ultra European genes. My complexion makes it VERY easy for a tanner to look so wrong on me – but this is the perfect balance between not being orange, but not having such a purple undertone that my skin just looks grimey. Despite other self tanners claims, the smell will still make me nauseous after of while, but this one is not offensive at all, and barely noticeable after rinsing. Between exfoliating, applying and then maintaining moisturizing my skin after each shower, this stuff lasts a solid 1-2 weeks between applications with a very natural fade.

If you’re new to self tanner or the St. Tropez line, this is a good little kit to try it out. I have used St. Tropez self tan express before, but didn’t want to purchase a bigger bottle this last time.
That being said, this bottle lasts quite some time. I was applying it about twice a week for 2-3 weeks over the summer and I still have product left. The mitt is very basic, which isn’t as high quality as the one in the full size kit. It still leaves you with an even application if you prep your skin prior to using. Also, St. Tropez has never left me with skin irritations, break outs, or looking like an Oompa Loompa!

I now understand why people pay extra for this product. I can buy a similar product at Walmart for $15 but it doesn’t give me a long lasting, natural looking tan like this does. I’m glad I got to sample the brand! I will definitely be buying the full size. The smell is much better than cheaper versions. The tanning mit doesn’t absorb the product, like other brands, meaning I don’t waste product. It smells much better than cheaper brands. I have found my new favorite self tanner. It’s worth every penny!
