I was hesitant to buy this product, but finally gave in after seeing it all over my TikTok. For reference, I have a combination skin type that is acne prone and is prone to hyperpigmentation after breakouts. My main decision point in buying this was my Tretinoin use and how severely dry my normal skin areas (mouth and cheeks) were becoming this winter. After some research I was aware that Stratia does not claim this product to be non-comedogenic, but after checking acne ingredient sites found this to not have any irritating ingredients.
I received the product and have been using it for a few days and so far it seems to be helping with the moisture in my skin. I have been using the sandwich method (Lipid gold, Tretinoin, moisturizer) at night and before my moisturizer in the mornings. The dry patches I had near my mouth are pretty much gone and my skin has a nice glow to it. I have not found that this product makes me more oily throughout the day when applied in the morning. My skin does tend to be more sensitive and so far I have not broken out while using this product which is a huge plus for me.
I did read that other were complaining of the fishy/omega smell. I do notice this smell initially but it typically goes away after a few minutes if it being applied so that is not a huge downside for me personally. I did also read comments about the yellow color and it leaving a stain on the skin, I personally have not noticed that at all, but do have a light-medium skin tone.
I will update this review after I have been using the product for longer.
(Update- 2 months) I have nothing but amazing. Things to say about this product. It has helped my skin stay moisturized and supple. Overall I would recommend this to those who need the extra boost for their skin. I use it every night and almost every day, and the bottle is about half way done so it definitely lasts. I have not experienced any breakout from this either.

Love, love, love Lipid Gold. It’s a staple in my routine and a retinoid’s BFF. It keeps my skin barrier happy, healthy, and moisturized. It’s especially great in the days following a chemical peel or microneedling (I skip the day of and the day after needling because niacinamide can be a tad spicy after).
I will never be able to stress just how incredible it is! If you order just one Stratia product, make sure it’s this one!

Just a fair warning, if you have sensory issues with some skincare products, I recommend trying this out from a friend first or buying from a store that accepts returns of used products.
Texture: liquidy, a little slimy. Not as bad as snail mucin but it has that vibe.
Scent: I hate the smell. It’s from the natural oils but I do not enjoy. I have to breathe through my mouth to apply it and until it dries down.
Otherwise I’m sure the quality is great. It absorbs into your skin well, the yellow color does seem to (temporarily) enhance some pigmentation issues around my mouth, but I only use it at night so I don’t care. I’ll use this bottle but won’t repurchase.

Wow!! Just love this product. I’ve only been using it for 2 weeks, and my skin has become so smooth and soft. One of those products you should always have in your routine. It does have a strange smell, something like putty. I’m keen to try out the peptide cream next. Wish Stratia was available in South Africa.

I am SO glad I tried this. I would describe it as more of a serum to use prior to layering your moisturizer. It has saved my skin from the dry/flakiness of retinol. My skin feels so soft to the touch in the mornings after using it which is rare coming from someone who uses retinol!

I hate to say it, but this product made me break out. I love the company, and I respect the owner. I think the products are amazing. However, this particular product makes me break out every time I try to use it. It has been a few years and I thought I would try again, but unfortunately, I broke out again. I wish I had kept the box so I could return it. I’ll give it to a friend to see if they like it. Don’t let my review sway you from purchasing and trying for yourself!

I have another favorite. I have dry skin that is prone to clogged pores and hormonal acne. It’s so hit or miss with what product will give me pimples. Not this one!!! I have been using it day and night. I started off using 2 pumps for my face and 1 pump for my neck and chest but honestly I’m going to go through the product way too quickly if I keep that up. Today I decided 1 pump for face, 1 pump for neck and chest, and it spreads really nicely. 1 pump is enough. Oh yeah, people remark on the smell but it reminds me of Desitin diaper rash cream and I kind of enjoy it. Lol. But if you don’t, it goes away rather quickly. I use this right before my moisturizer, I don’t use this AS my moisturizer, although I’m sure many people can, I’m just super dry. This will now be on my repurchase, can’t live without list.
