Wow. I am in love. I’m a woman of color with PCOS so I have hair in places most women don’t at a thickness only a portion of the population can understand. Hair removal was something I sorta subconsciously became obsessed with. From shaving to using Nair and finding epilating (which is freaking painful) to then waxing at home. Waxing was the most effective hair removal process in my opinion, and it’s been almost a year since I’ve shaved and 6+ months since owning a razor. I used to own the wax warmer with the sticks and the wax beads and the strips. A messy, messy process. Then I found the wax warmer cartridges which eliminated the mess of transferring wax to skin but still needed a ton of strips. God forbid I get wax anywhere because it’s virtually impossible to clean unless you have the wax removal wipes/product with mineral oil. It was effective, but I still felt deep in my heart there was something better. Side note: I practice minimalism so I aim to own as few things as necessarily possible, and the cartridge although necessary, was bulky and challenging to store aesthetically. I was on instagram one day and seen a sugaring ad that promoted a product for hair removal. Basically a wax but no heating or strips necessary. To be honest I was super skeptical, but I knew came far enough to want to find out if it was legit + if it was legit, the bonus of only having to store a jar and applicator would be enough to convert me. I bought this jar a few weeks ago and I am converted! lol! I love it, it works and it’s the easiest clean up. Just use water! One thing is to be careful and precise with the technique because it can get painful if you don’t flick correctly or if you reuse the wax too much. I find that once it turns that lighter color with the creamy texture, it’s time to grab fresh wax. I purchased the one for thicker hair of course and was so surprised and satisfied with the results. I think the only way I’ll let this product go is if I convince myself to try laser but until then, this baby is keeping me smooth and soft and hair free!

This product arrived on time, but it doesn’t work well at all. I have taken waxing training, and wanted to give this a try. I followed the directions exactly, as they are a bit different from waxing, but it hardly removed any hair! I made attempts on several occasions without much success. Would NOT recommend.

Great for waxing thick hair (like black hair on legs). I don’t think it works with thin hair as much but it’s great stuff! I love this product. Just make sure you do not over wax spots on your body!!! It will take a while to heal (I mean just don’t keep waxing one spot because you think all the hair isn’t gone. Get tweezers!). And it’s messy but warm water cleans it up. Great stuff. Also, doesn’t seem to attract bugs (it’s called sugar wax so that’s a legitimate concern, but it doesn’t even attract bugs when it’s outside.. so.. I don’t know).

I wanted this product to work. I can’t get my skin cool enough for this to work. I end up with whipped sugar and have to wash it all off. When it did work, it left bruising.

Love the idea of being able to take care of my hairs without having to make an appointment and spend a ton of money. Watched the videos and tutorials. Not sure how I’m supposed to hold my skin taught on my arm pit while holding my arm uo to expose said arm pit and wax it at the same time. So yes the product may afford the sufficient amount to wax arm pits, unless you have another set of hands to help, it ain’t happening very well. Forget about even trying the nether regions without help. Alas that was the area I was most hopeful to use this product. Sadly unless I have another set of hands (which may not be the same for every body type) I will not be waxing down under on my own.

I did get some patchy growth on my legs and tried the sugar wax… worked great! Only downside is the leftover sticky residue. Nothing some warm water and a wash cloth couldn’t overcome. Overall a nice product. I’ll keep it for my legs but not at all what I intended and hoped to use the product for.

PS the photo is of the product straight out of the box… must have been a toasty drive for the little container in the big brown box truck. Open yours near a sink and avoid any potential sugary sticky messes.

UPDATE!! After applying and using sugar wax on the little patches on my legs I noticed a reaction. It’s been over an hour and the second photo is the current status. I did not have a reaction on any other area I’ve tried it on. I will not be keeping this for my legs sadly. I really wanted this to be a great find and product for me.

Yes, the first time I used this I was a bruised, sticky mess. And even the second try. But by the third try, I understood all the things I was doing wrong and I’m never going back to shaving or waxing my legs.

    Tips:
    Apply baby powder first
Let it grow – I needed to wait longer than the recommended growth time
Watch the consistency – Once it gets cloudy, you are asking for trouble. Dispose & get a new glob. If it has a bit of “clear” left, use it one more time. For me, I use a glob once or twice max.
JUST THE TIP – for the flick removal, use the tiniest edge of the card. Most of my bruises were from putting pressure in the middle of the card. (You can tell because it hurts like a b*tch).

What I love about this is that the sticky comes off so easy! Any surface can be resolved. I absolutely could never wax without getting a sticky bathroom floor. I also love that it isnt hot. It is a bit pricey but shaving every other day can eff right off 😊
