Love this creamy cleanser. Use it in the shower! Helps with dry skin

I wanted and expected to love this cleanser, but I just didn’t. It wasn’t bad, but it just wasn’t the best fit for me. I do love that it’s fragrance-free and cruelty-free, which is an absolute must for me! It did a nice job removing dirt and makeup, and the price is pretty average for a good cleanser, but I think my skin is a little too dry for this product. I would probably do better with their “The Rice Wash,” so if your skin is normal, but leaning to the dry side over the oily side, probably best to avoid this cleanser.

I’ve heard AMAZING things about Tatcha skincare products so I was so excited to try out this TATCHA The Matcha Cleanse!

I have fairly sensitive skin and have had no adverse reactions. No scent detected!

I love that it has a safety seal on it (that’s big for me with skincare products) and has a sheet of instructions that come with it – which is nice as most skincare products don’t go the extra step to include a full sheet of information and instructions/ingredients! So it was definitely a great first impression!

The first time I used it, I definitely used too much and quickly realized you don’t need much at all to cleanse your face. A little goes a long way! It takes my makeup off (I wear minimal makeup and no eye makeup) and it cleanses my face really nicely as well. It doesn’t foam/lather as much as I thought since it says it’s gel to foam, but that doesn’t bother me, as long as it’s cleansing my face well haha!

After cleansing, I definitely need to use serums and a moisturizer. My face doesn’t necessarily feel dry or stripped, but it’s meant to reduce oil, so it’s expected that my face wouldn’t feel super hydrated after cleansing. I definitely have noticed a decrease in oil and redness to my skin!! I haven’t noticed much difference to my pores yet, but I’ve only been using a couple weeks and I know that will take more time! I use this AM & PM and my makeup has been going on a lot nicer since using this cleanser!!

It has some great ingredients with great benefits, such as:
    • Japanese Kyo-Matchä – which is rich in antioxidants and known to calm redness
    • BHA-Alternative Japanese Coix Seed & Willow Bark – which helps decongest pores and help to visibly even skin tone
    • Ceramide-like Japanese Mugwort – which acts like a ceramide to support the skin barrier

Absolutely loving this cleanser so far! Tatcha is a pricey skincare brand, but I now understand why! This bottle (40 at time of review) will last me a while, even using twice a day, because again, a little goes a long way! 10 out of 10 recommend and will absolutely be ordering again and can’t wait to try more Tatcha skincare products out!

The TATCHA The Matcha Cleanser is gentle and effective. It doesn’t strip my skin. The scent is pleasant and not overpowering. My skin feels clean and refreshed, no tightness or dryness.

So, this was my first experience with a Tatcha product, though I have certainly heard wonderful things about the brand. The Matcha Cleanse comes in a sealed 5oz tube. Per the packaging, this is a good choice for those with oily leaning skin. I have combination skin, sometimes it’s more dry, sometimes it’s more oily, and it affects different areas on my face.

This cleanser is a scent free gel with a medium consistency. Although it will lather some, it is soap-free, which is what I prefer in a cleanser. I really love that it doesn’t contain added fragrance, but in the ingredients it does list dyes Yellow 5 and Blue 1.

It boasts ingredients like Japanese kyo-matcha, mugwort, and coix seeds, as well as rice ferment filtrate and willow bark, among other high quality ingredients.

This is meant to help thoroughly remove makeup, decongest pores and even tone, all while not stripping your skin of moisture.

I was hesitant to stray from my (very basic) cleanser, but I did use this several times at night after lightly removing makeup with micellar water. It feels really nice going on, and the light lather goes a long way. It rinses clean quite easily. I wasn’t left feeling like there was any residue after rinsing, nor did I feel it stripped my skin.

I actually did not experience any irritation after several uses of the Matcha Cleanse, which surprised me, as my skin can be quite sensitive at times. I don’t think it has noticeably effected my pores at all yet. It does leave my skin looking a bit brighter, though. No noticeable effect on balancing oil production yet, though my skin is still trying to adjust to the change in seasons here.

I think this is a nice, but not extraordinary, cleanser. The price is a big turnoff for me. I can’t see myself repurchasing this. There’s nothing wrong with it, however.

This cleanser works well. It gets my combination skin feeling fresh and clean but not tight and dry. The scent is very mild and pleasant and the cleanser foams up nicely. It rinses off easily and just a small amount is enough to thouroughly clean my face and neck.
