This is just a curling iron with a brush around it and I don’t think it works as well as the blow dry brushes that actually have air blowing out of them. Ironically, this curling brush creates a huge amount of static in my hair. It is not particularly smoothing for the hair shafts, but does work to straighten instead of curl. I have medium to long hair and it would get caught in my hair before I would be able to actually make curls. I think it would work best on very short hair where you want a loose wave look.
Ode to Onion Rings –
This curling iron is awesome. I have medium length hair and it does a great job whether I’m straightening or curling. Quick heat up time too.

I tried the Tresses Touch Thermal Brush, 1.5″ Curling Ion Brush, Heated Round Brush right when it arrived because my bangs needed attention. When I unpacked the product, I noticed that it came with a helpful heatproof glove and styling clip. I didn’t need either accessory to touch up my bangs. I turned on the tool and it heated up fairly quickly. I noticed the blue light ICONIC indicator and knew my hair would be protected. As I began to twist my bangs, I was happy that the cord swiveled as I turned the wand. Nice feature! The combination of bristles and comb teeth on the barrel did well at grabbing and holding my hair. My bangs turned out perfectly without having to twirl, and twirl, and twirl. I absolutely LOVE that this product has an ‘auto-off’ after 1-hour feature, for ‘just in case.’ My next test will be smoothing my curly hair after shampooing and air drying.

This curling brush is fine. It heats well and allows me to produce soft waves or brush through my hair to decrease some of the frizz. It wasn’t amazing but certainly improved my hair. It only has two temperature settings, which doesn’t give you a lot of flexibility if you don’t like either setting. There are others out there that give you a range of up to 10 settings. Overall, for the money, I don’t feel it represents great value but there is also nothing particularly wrong with it either. I just feel that other thermal brushes out there might give you more bang for your buck.

I was impressed with this thermal brush. I flat iron my hair a lot. Way too much. And sometimes I want to let my hair go naturally wavy, but there’s just not enough of the wave to overcome the natural frizz that tags along. Running this thing through was simple enough — it didn’t snag my hair and it curbed the frizz but left me with just enough of the wave I wanted.

I am literally blown away with how well this heated round brush worked. It took me about 20 minutes to do my entire head. It gives you the perfect blowout look without the noise of the hair dryer. Hardly any pulling or snagging when I twisted the hair around the brush… If it does start to pull at the hair, just unwind the brush a little and twirl a smaller piece around the brush. Amazing results that take less than 30 minutes to achieve!
