I thought the smell was great, maybe they’ve changed their formula since I read many sharing the strong scent. This was light and refreshing. Loved the way it lathered and immediately made my hair soft in the shower. You don’t need much. Have tried without and with conditioner (my hair is fine but lots of it, getting very dry with age) and use it both ways. Pleasant surprise for shampoo that was a splurge for me! Yay!

My husband uses this shampoo. He said it’s his favorite clean shampoo that he has used. It still doesn’t fully lather like a ‘non-clean’ shampoo does, but he overall likes it and has now purchased his second bottle. I wish it was a little cheaper.

The scent is VERY strong of patchouli/dirt which is one of my least favorite smells and I am smelling it hours later in my hands and hair making me nauseated. I literally cannot use it again and will need to throw the entire bottle away. If you like the smell of patchouli then otherwise the shampoo is adequate and lathers well, and my hair feels quite clean after use. What a shame.

Scent is great (smells like ginger ale to me) and the ingredients are exactly what I’m looking for, however when I use this shampoo it strips my hair of all the oils. Definitely cleans everything out but I would like if it wasn’t so aggressive. Using half of what I would regularly use from modern mammals strips a lot less of my hair oils

I bought this shampoo because i am pregnant and wanted an all natural shampoo without any of the bad chemicals. Apparently chemicals from your basic shampoos can enter your blood stream and cross the placenta, so that really freaked me out. After a lot of shopping and research, i found a few shampoos that are free of all those chemicals, including chemicals that hold perfume and scents. This Ursa Major shampoo had the best price point while also being free of all the chemicals i want to avoid. While it is still pricey, its still considerably cheaper than the other ones i found. I will tell you it is definitely worth the price. It leaves my hair soft, shiny and light. It does not weigh down my hair at all. It moisturizes really well, i don’t even have to use conditioner. It has a very strong natural scent though, its not a bad smell but it is quite strong. The best way i can describe it is reminds me of oregano. But hey, its all natural, so i cant complain. I recently ran out of this stuff, and i had to use some left overs i had from a cheap H-E-B natural shampoo and the difference was significant. The cheap shampoo left my hair really dry. So i immediately ordered more of this Ursa Major shampoo. I’m now on my second bottle and both times it arrived on time and undamaged. I bought it straight from the Ursa Major seller on amazon though. A little goes a long way with this shampoo, so even though its a small bottle, it lasts quite some time. My first bottle lasted me from the beginning of May, until the end of June. I have very fine hair but a lot of it.

Love this product for the clean ingredients. Leave my hair feeling good. I add a little conditioner afterwards because I have hard water and color my hair too. As good as Aveda shampoo
