Bought this to replace an older Philips groomer with a failing rechargeable battery. I’ve decided I’m tired of non-replaceable batteries that limit an item’s effective lifetime to around five years.
This feels hefty and solid. The cutters are thick and seem built for the long term, and do a commendable job of removing hair. I don’t ask a lot of a beard groomer, so the included selection of spacers and combs is more than adequate for my needs. So far, this seems like a worthy replacement unit.
Shed –
This unit was the worse item I ever bought. It turned on for 2 seconds and sounded like a Kenworth truck, before it blew my houses fuses. Then when I tried a new point, it stopped working all together. So I threw it in the bin. Waste of money!

I have pretty coarse body hair so cheaper tools would get jammed easily. This one works like a charm! I suppose the motor is a bit more powerful going off mains, and also doesn’t weaken over time.
The trimmer itself is thin and fits very comfortably in my hand. The power switch is convenient and easy to manipulate with your pinky. It is not excessively bulky when stored. The bag it comes with is the typical cheap fabric, but has two compartments, which was nice. Unfortunately it doesn’t hold all the accessories and the trimmer, I only put my most used 3 things in there and left the rest in the box it came in.
It comes with a bunch of accessories and they seem high-quality and useful. My main problem with them is that there is too many, but mainly because they are for trimming to different lengths. There several blades of different widths, they are very easy to snap on and off.
Lastly, the cord: This was the main feature I wanted, and it’s GREAT! Finally, no more having to allot hours of charging time to every 5 minute shaving session. No more dealing with low charge when you’ve only shaved one half. No more batteries going bad from sitting in storage for a month. No more underpowered motors struggling to push through a few hairs getting in between the blades. This machine performs beautifully. The cord is quite long and easily reaches wherever you are shaving. Excellent product, would recommend.

Thanks to Covid, I needed a way to trim my beard, brows, ears, and nose. I have used battery operated trimmers for years, but they never worked great, and throwing away batteries all the time can’t be good for the planet. So, I bought these Wahl trimmers.
The trimmer is nice and light. It is comfortable to hold, but it is a little small. That’s probably an advantage since the human head isn’t flat and you’ll be working around all those unsightly protrusions (e.g. – nose, ears, lips, and chin).
The cord is long and not so heavy that it impedes use.
The included bag is too small, but it will hold everything if you’re willing to fiddle with it. It’s made of cheap, thin material, and the zippers are awful. I’ll be using it to hold the accessories but I won’t be struggling to stuff the trimmer into it after every use.
The blades are top notch and it’s easy to swap between them. They include a T-blade for haircuts, a slightly smaller beard blade which has rounded ends, and a small blade for details like nose, ears, and mustache.
The guards are a little flimsy, but they seem to work fine. There are lots of guards for the T-blade, but I wish they had more than three for the beard blade.
The blades are the only part of this kit that are made in the USA. The trimmer is clearly stamped “Made in China.” Wahl’s packaging and promotion is completely deceptive in this regard. They have a big red, white, and blue “Made in USA” logo prominently displayed on the packaging, but most of what you’re buying came from China. Shame on Wahl for using such deceptive packaging.
The trimmers and blades deserve 5 stars, but the cheap accessories and deceptive packaging were enough to knock them down to 4 stars.

Just got this from Amazon the other day. After years of using a battery trimmer (and shavers) I decided to go with pure electric and I’m glad I did. I had received another brand electric for less money but it got too hot after a few minutes use. This one is different in many ways. First, this is a well-made unit wih a nice, thick cord. The three cutters included are all finely ground and cut well. Also, all the attachments are useful for those who need them but I did find I’d only use some of them as I am fairly bald and won’t be cutting much hair. I wouldn’t recommend these to cut thick hair but they will do the job for just about everything. My main use of this will be for my mustache, beard, sideburns, eyebrows, and around the ears. This trimmer is reasonably quiet (they all make some noise). Also, it does not get even warm after several minutes use, and it is very easy to hold and lightweight. The 20-piece kit has everything, including a carrying case. The nice thing besides how it works is the fact it has a 5-year warranty. Others have one or two years. Of the dozens of things I’ve ordered from Amazon, this is already one of my favorites as it is just for me and I plan to use it a few times each week. The attachments can be a little confusing to install until you get the hang of it. It says use a drop or two of oil about every month (the oil is included), but my experience is about once a week…they seem to keep the blades sharper and last longer. You can buy light machine oil (like 3-in-1), mineral oil, or Wahl sells its own clipper oil. I like this and I am so happy I will never have to install and discard batteries again!
