This trimmer combines a lot of functionality in a single box. And it will trim any hairs you want, including those brave and adventurous hairs that peek out of your nose. The battery seems to last forever on a single charge.

Very good performance. Extraordinary battery life.

    1. It fits in my hand well. Well balanced. Runs well.
    2. I have not seen my barber/stylist in months! Not sure I am going back after the lock-down. I am getting the hang of cutting my own hair from a couple of YouTube Videos. Courage my friend!
    3. I would purchase this item again.
    4. The clipper is of excellent quality and feel. Metal, fast and quiet. A compact but substantial tool.
    5. However, the plastic bits could have been more beefy.
    6. It produces a very good result. Especially in the circumstances.
    7. Cuts evenly, I don’t get into a lot of gymnastics – I use one of the many trim attachments.
    8. There are other functions included in the kit, but I have not used them.

My hair/beard grooming arsenal has varied with my age, style, and hairline, but there have been quite a few doodads, including 3 hair clippers, one bread trimmer, various cartridge-based blade shavers.

This one device not only replaces them all, but does a better job than any of them. I find that astounding. The various attachments, including the beard trimmer, foil shaver, and nose/ear trimmer, actually work really well. So I just use this one machine to do everything.

It does a better job at shaving my head than my corded Wahl hair clipper, which has been rendered obsolete. It took me several months to even try, but it ended up eating that task for breakfast. It is much easier to hold and guide around the scalp, shaves closer and comfortably, with no nicks/catches yet. It feels like this scale of device is much better for navigating the curves of the scalp.

The foil shaver attachment actually shaves well and is comfortable, so I use that for unbearded facial regions. The nose/ear trimmer also… works comfortably. So we’re all set!

The battery life is great. I only have to plug it in about once a week. However the speed of the shaver goes down slowly over a session, and this is very perceptible. It’s a slow, gradual lowering in the musical “note” that it makes when running. However, the lithium battery rebounds a bit by the next time you turn it on.

I feel it has earned 5 stars by now. However there are some imperfections that are completely tolerable but would be great to fix.

The wall-wart style charging adapter has an odd, proprietary connector so if it dies when you’re traveling you’ll probably be out of luck. USB charging would have been cool. The docking connection between shaver and attachments is at an angle, somewhat inscrutable, and makes it a stubborn affair to switch attachments. It always seems to make you try several times before it lets an attachment click in.

And the clipper guides, all dumped into a bag and of different lengths, have hard-to-read, inconsistent labels. It makes selecting the correct guide – which is important not to mess up – a stressful affair. I just selected the two lengths I needed and threw them in the provided carry bag, leaving the rest of the chess set of plastic pieces in the box.

Overall, this product is so game-changingly good that it actually improved my life by a perceptible amount. I’m just hoping that the battery gives a few years of service before dying, and that I don’t lose or damage that AC adapter.

I travel a lot and happened to be back in the US for the first time in awhile so I took this opportunity to get another hair clipper. I have other Wahl clippers but all are several years old as Wahl clipper just seem never to stop working. I have a Wahl clipper from when I was a child that’s still working and I’ve picked up a few more since then usually at times when I was traveling and didn’t bring my clippers and needed one. However, I decided to get a cordless clipper this time as that’d be easier for traveling. I also needed universal power so I didn’t have to carry around a large power adaptor or worry at all about the power input of the clipper–most of the older Wahl’s seem to be single power input and won’t switch.

Wahl has always been just fine but I am not one fixated on brand so I’ll get what ever I think is the best. I did some research online and found one page online which seemed to have good information about a lot of different clippers. I looked up additional information on all the ones they recommended. I was surprised they didn’t recommend “1” Wahl clipper. Seemed strangely odd as this is the only company I remember from when I was a child and I was surprised they couldn’t even recommend “one” from Wahl. After some thought I decided that I should go over the line-up the Wahl had.

Money was no issue as I was set on getting the best cordless clipper available regardless of the brand or price–I just wanted the best as this would be something I knew I’d use for many years to come. I understood that I probably would be sacrificing some power for cordless portability and I was ok with that realization, but otherwise I wanted a quality clipper. Finally decided upon this one after looking at probably every clipper on the market that I could find out information about online. Ordered and It quickly arrived and I was just as impressed as I had anticipated. You can read the description to find out everything about this clipper as it is as the description says. I love the different attachments, the ease of cleaning (which I don’t think they pointed out clear enough), the very compact size which is perfect for traveling, long battery life, and the look / design of it. The feel is very nice although I think it feels a bit too small in the hand although I am probably just use to larger clippers so I am sure I’ll get use to it in time. The stainless steel design is nice looking but feels a bit like it might slip from my hands too easily. They do offer a rubberized version but I feared that over time the rubber part of that would be worn off or ratty looking or be more difficult to clean so I went with a more long term choice with this one.

The power adaptor on this is universal and adjusts power depending upon the power input. Very important for me as before I had to select the correct clipper power input according to what country I was traveling to. This one will work anywhere in the world. Very important for me.

Now the best part about sticking to Wahl. I have heard their customer service is great, but I never had to use it until now. They messed up and sent 2 of the detailer adaptors and omitted the nose trimmer which I wanted. I called Wahl directly using the phone number provided with the clippers and the lady answering the phone was way beyond nice and helpful. She quickly got my information and said they’d send the missing item via Priority mail at no cost. 2 days latter it was here. It wasn’t just the fact that they took care of the problem, but she was sooooo nice, helpful, and also didn’t ask me a lot of unneeded questions. The service reminded me of the type of service Apple use to be known for.

I understand mistakes happen. Not only just the possibility of getting a wrong accessory but even though they test all items I am sure it’s possible to get a defective item. Sh*t happens. But the piece of mind knowing that Wahl will very quickly and professionally take care of any problem is such a nice bonus that I will NEVER even think about buy any other brand and I will recommend this company to anyone looking for a clipper. This company has been around for a long time, is an American company (important for me), and has American quality customer service but not just that but top quality American style customer service. I could tell just by talking to the lady on the phone that they obviously train their customer service staff very good and give them the power and authority to “just take care of problems” instead of having to get stuff approved. She had my problem solved so fast and the missing item at my house very quickly.

Other minor things. I also liked the small size of the power adaptor, the very stylish holder for the clipper (surprised they didn’t show that in the ad as it’s very nice and is stainless steal holder). Almost perfect little item. I always like to think about what I would change if I had designed a product. If I can’t think of much I then know it’s a great product. With this there are the issues about the small size and the feeling that I might drop it, but those are things I probably wouldn’t change as I think I’ll get use to them and the trade-off might not be work it if those things were changed. Yet, I would like to have an adjustable blade instead of having to use all the attachments. Adjustable like the larger Wahl clippers. Probably more difficult to design for that with the small size of this unit but that’s about the only thing I can think of that I believe is realistic and would improve this almost perfect item. More power of course, but I knew it wouldn’t be as powerful as a larger corded clipper, yet I understand this is not a realistic request of a small battery operated clipper. Furthermore, it is as powerful as I anticipated. It cuts my hair just fine (not at easy as my larger corded Wahls, but satisfactorily enough that it works and I don’t think I’ll feel the need to use my other clippers. I am a Black man also with thick difficult to cut hair and it works fine for me so should work for anyone.

I can not recommend this item, their other items and company more.

I bought this trimmer after trying to find a well built, above average product. Reviews were good. Wahl’s a good brand. It’s a Lithium Ion with tons of battery time. Plus you get lots of attachments which makes the trimmer quite versatile.

On the surface, the trimmer feels good. It feels like a premium consumer grade product, exactly as it should.

Upon use, it is a reasonable product. The design choices are logical, however I do prefer adjustable style versions versus having to swap tips.

I don’t use it all that much really, and much of the time it just sits on the counter patiently waiting.

As a trimmer, I would normally give it a 4 out of 5. I think it’s well built and appropriate for the cost point. I do think most users will prefer a couple alternative design choices for convenience. At the very least it would have been nice for the tips to be color coded. Rummaging through a bag for a particular size is a pain. Plus there’s nothing provided to hold or organize the accessories. Even a lot of the cheapest trimmers come with storage solutions.

    Odd quirk

Well, I ran into the same problem as many others with this (and it’s product family). At one random point it just stayed on and won’t turn off. It seems this is a common problem for the device due to some flaw in the design. It makes the product completely useless. Initially I thought the trimmer was defective and has a critical flaw in its design. I even reviewed as such with two stars and warning. However, I had a hypothesis which turns out to be true.

This device does have a quirky design flaw. Thankfully it’s not permanent, but people may think it’s so without knowing. I’m sure a lot have been sent back as defective, and a lot of low star reviews exist because of this flaw. The device isn’t mechanically controlled in the classic sense. It’s very circuit board heavy and in turn is driven by the circuitry in function. This controls On/Off, charging, and the LED. One flaw with some circuitry is that it doesn’t work as intended when voltage goes above or below spec. When the battery goes low on this trimmer, the On/Off function gets weird. It will stay on or off, and you can’t control it via the button. You have to plug in the charger to stop the trimmer for acting weird. The charger acts as a secondary Off button that is reliable.

    So a word of warning.

The trimmer works good when charged, but when the battery’s getting low, it may start acting weird. If this happens, thankfully the trimmer is not damaged, but you do need to plug in the charger and recharge the battery. Once the voltage goes back up, the trimmer will act normally again.

This comes highly recommended! It does the job very well, comes with all the attachments you’ll need, is easy to switch them out and has a great length of battery time between charges depending on how big of a trim you need. It’s sleek and stylish, comes in a quality zippered storage/travel pouch and take it from someone who has shaky hands from time to time this is very easy to hold and the weight is distributed evenly, so much so that I can still use my freestyle trim which means I hold the razor just above my beard to trim it to the height I like and not using any of the combs. That’s just how I’ve done it for years, and years is how long I clung to my old trimmer until it was obvious it just wasn’t cutting it – literally. This isn’t your average “cheap” trimmer at all and will remind you why the Wahl brand is still considered one of the best you can buy, it’s a quality item and makes a great gift too. I haven’t regretted my purchase of this trimmer at all and will be clinging to it for years to come, since it’s a Wahl, more than likely I will be able to to find replacement parts for it in the future. Take care of your trimmer and it will take care of you with years of good cuts!
